I think you have hit most of the ones available with the exception of Khurasan and his website is currently down. I would like to see more options in this area. I think that Rebel and Clear Horizon have the overall best looking designs.

As of yet I have not added any dropships to my collection. I want to at some point I just need a scenario to give me the excuse. The other option as drop ships does is to just scratch build using a modern model of some type of aircraft and doing some heavy modifications. That may be the lest expensive way to go if you are wanting to do a scenarios along the lines of Apocalypse now. Cue the Wagner music. evil grin

Four Quinjet models now, with all looking a bit different, and very nice.

Very affordable too, especially considering their large size.

Oh, and Mad Mecha Guy… have you considered offering the 4 Door Vehicle Pod and the 8 Door Mecha pod as individual pieces for sale rather than having to rebuy the entire kit?

Psyckosama06 Aug 2015 9:34 p.m. PST

Also to add… there's this as well

Dear Psyckosama

Yes can sell separate pods. I will have to create the cutting layout to see how many sheets they takes up.

Just reminded my that I have got to do a 15mm lab-n-hab pod design.

regards

MMG.

Psyckosama07 Aug 2015 1:35 p.m. PST

Sweet. I'd like to know how it works out.

Have you considered adding detailing to the pod interior.

Another idea… have you considered doing one where there's only one large interior space as a "Cargo Variant"?

And on another note, I'm tempted to buy a herc and detail the interior. IF you don't glue down the top panels for the main body it actually gives you a lot of interior space to play with.

One question though… is it as big as the original foam core design?

Note: I actually tried to build the foamcore version. Was kind of a mess. Just couldn't get the lines right. Hell, you could probably make some money doing that. Just make a version where you sell pre-cut foam-core panels for it

Mad Mecha Guy07 Aug 2015 2:45 p.m. PST

Dear Psyckosama

Detailing pods – could not think of any good to put in pods. Can only do MDF as not access to resin or metal casting.

With a Cargo Pod can not be completely open as needs a central wall for strength, the vehicle version central wall has 2 large holes between bays.

Foamcard in UK is more expensive than laserable MDF & more of pain to deal with.

Yes it same size as original (60Lx40ws).

Psyckosama07 Aug 2015 9:12 p.m. PST

Detailing pods – My suggestion would be doors between the chambers and just some wall detailing like X shaped wall bracing and control panels on the walls to give a control to the pod door. As for metal/resin bits, you could always partner up with someone. Just a thought to consider

Cargo Pod: That's a shame. Maybe it would be possible to make one that opens in the front or rear for the cargo version. I know there's enough clearance there… though it would beg the question of how does the cockpit access the cargo bay in flight as I alwaways assumed that there were steps leading down from the control deck in the front of the modular. Maybe singular rear doors? Hell, want to take this to email because I could really derail this thread with ideas.

as for Cardstock prices, that sucks. Stuff is cheap in the US :(
