"Black Tree Design taking ages to send a small order" Topic

Anyone received their order from Black Tree Design recently? Getting nervous about a small order I placed on 30 July. Sent chasing emails, but nothing back so far.

The US side of it says that they are still taking orders, however it seems that the entire operation is a mess. Their FB page hasn't been updated in 3 years, and the last posts were yet another series of "reasons why things aren't going smoothly"…. Followed by over a hundred replies of "Why can't you even respond to emails about orders?"
I myself would like to order from them, but given their horrendous track record…no thanks.

Sounds like typical ops from them. You'll get your order sometime, though probably not in the time you are used to.

Thanks chaps. I have ordered in the past 3-4 years and received the order in a timely manner.

I tend to order from a third party if they have what I'm looking for in stock.

The reputation for poor communications is off-putting

I think perhaps half their fantasy lines are no longer listed for sale. Can someone with better memory confirm or deny this? I seem to remember a second line of humans and some others.

Unless I'm missing something I think they also dropped the former-harlequin Space Dwarfs and a couple other sci-fi figs they formerly offered. Too bad, as they were some of the most affordable and most characterful non-Squats you could buy. Glad I bought a few packs when they were available

Absolute WORST company I have ever ordered from – I will never buy from them again – HORRIBLE customer service. Stay away like the plague – there are so many better and well deserving businesses that deserve your money. Just my two cents – but have experience with BTD USA.

Funny thing is, this has always been their modus operandi.
I think I first read about it in the mid-2000s.
But still, there are enough people who seem to buy from them.
Over and over again.
The minis and the excuses.
If they get any at all, excuses I mean.
The saying is, you get your miniatures eventually, but then you don't need them anymore.

ordinarybass, I know some of their ancients line are no longer for sale. I can't comment on the fantasy side.

Thats too bad you have to wait for a long time to get your order. I order pretty regularly and get my figures in about 10 days. I've emailed John many times and he has responded back in a day or two. Hope things work out.

Dunno…a little kindness in a conversation…Typically when you stuff has not arrived in a reasonable time window, conversation emails tend to be less than cordial.

Vell…Ah've never had any trouble with them. Always got my order. Took a while, sometimes but always got it :)

I have ordered figs from BTD USA for quite some time. I've had one order mix up years ago which resulted in way more berserkers than I would ever want (paleolithic hunters maybe?), but the last year rounding out my early medieval armies it has been quick turn arounds with no issues. However, as I mentioned on another thread I have only ordered from the sales over the last year or so. It is just conjecture on my part, but some items in the ranges aren't labeled "sale" during that period which makes me wonder if they are not being cast for the sale and/or not currently in stock. If I want the specific fig I just wait and order it later during another sale period, hasn't been a problem yet. I like the sculpts and they make up all my Saxons and Vikings.. Sorry some folks have had issues.
