Editor in Chief Bill | 02 Aug 2022 5:54 a.m. PST |
Congress may be sleepwalking the United States into war, potentially with a nuclear state. A provision in the recently passed House version of the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act would expand the U.S. military's ability to use proxy forces for "irregular warfare" operations against Iran, North Korea, Russia, and China. It's not clear how many lawmakers were aware of the provision—much less considered how the military's use of foreign proxies can escalate into direct military conflict. The Senate should reject this dangerous measure in its consideration of the bill… Defense One: link |

"The Trump administration invoked the 2002 AUMF, the authorization for the Iraq War, to justify an airstrike on Qassem Soleimani, a high‑ranking Iranian general." It can't be all bad! And under what authority did we just whack al-Zawahiri? |

to justify an airstrike on Qassem Soleimani, a high‑ranking Iranian general." Good shoot'n IMO .. It can't be all bad! And under what authority did we just whack al-Zawahiri? Killing bad guys who threaten/ed us is a good thing. TMP link Risk Unintended War … Wait … Note: didn't a high-ranking US Gov't official just land in Taiwan ? Regardless of the CCP's threats to shoot down that aircraft. Are we still not at war with islamic radicals worldwide ? E.g. AQ, ISIS, Iran, etc. They are not real active attacking the US or Europe for some time. Since we keep killing off their leadership and many minions often. Our elected and appointed officials play a lot of word games, etc. based on politics, etc. Not really looking out for the good/lives of "we the people". E.g.: Our gov't asking the UN to investigate if the US to see if we are a racist nation. Allowing the PRC/CCP buying large tracks of land near our military bases. Open Borders with drugs, criminals of all types, etc. flocking across our Southern Border. Mixing with many other illegal aliens asking for asylum, which few actually qualify. Sounds like a waste of $ and our assets to me … Not to mention the drugs, criminals, etc. killing thousands of Americans. |

Are we still at war with EastAsia? |

"Allowing the PRC/CCP buying large tracks of land near our military bases." Yeah, Trump opened that up big time. And he just bragged about how he forced Biden to complete the Afghanistan withdrawal by signing a peace agreement with the Taliban that made it completely untenable to remain. |
