While it is mentioned on the Hobby Industry board here I thought would be appropriate to a wider audience. On 1 December Christopher Dean, owner and operator of NWS Wargaming passed away. TMP link I sort of stumbled into this. I was interested in some board games as well as some Plastic Soldier items and NWS was always my first stop for these items. I became concerned when the link to the website came up the link couldnt be reached and GoDaddy showed the link was available. Unfortunately my digging resulted in several notices across several boards of Christopher's passing. Not too long ago I had sent a message asking Christopher for an update on an order I had with him for both board games and miniatures. This order had been open for awhile driven mainly by the fact I mentioned he should wait until all items were in and I had added to the order. I knew there were delays given his moving into a new facility. He apologized, said it expected all items soon and then, almost as a second thought, directed me to a posting on his facebook account. There I discovered a few months previously his dad had passed away AND a few weeks previously his wife. I was appalled that I was so thoughtless to worry about an order given what he was going through. I told him dont worry about the order he had much more on his plate of real concern. In typical Christopher fashion he wrote back not to worry and that work and getting caught up on the orders was actually helping him make it through the day. Shortly after my complete order arrived. I have been doing business with Christopher for years. His discounts were always the best even taking into account postage. We exchanged notes over the years and I really thought of him as a friend as much as a vendor. I will miss him. And, as he signed off on many of his messages "Thanks Friend". |

Marc33594, I had much of the same experience. I, too, wrote an email apologizing for my thinking of my own order while he was going through his personal loss. He did, in fact, sign off on his emails to me the same way. "Thanks Friend". He ran a great business and he was my go to for miniatures. His prices were great and his service was also great. I will miss doing business with him. |

I have been ordering from NWS for years and am shocked and saddened to read of his passing. Much of my lead/plastic pile is due to his prices and great customer service. People like Christopher make the Gaming hobby the pleasurable experience it is. I also will miss doing business with him. |

I had a book on preorder with him when tragedy fell his family and himself. Since I paid for the book using PayPal, and it was within the timeframe, I was able to talk with PayPal and get a refund. You may want to check this option out. |

It is really sad, his shop was one of the best and he was super knowledgeable. His family was really hit hard. Rest in peace. |
