Hi all!

After I made my Viking Longship (you can see here for that if you like:
TMP link

I remarked that I didn't have a suitable shore line for the Vikings to park their new boat, so they remained quite lame and shipless in reality.

I solved that problem by making some shoreline / river banks. Came out half decent I think.

Each one is a little over 2 feet long and 9" deep. I made two so that I could use them separately OR put them together on one side of a 6x4 table like so..

These were made with basic materials: hard board for the bases, foamboard and spackle for the river bank. The water was made by laying down Triolet paper on water downed glue (a technique I stole from the internet. If you google 'toilet paper + glue = realistic water' you find a video of a nice man showing the process for his model railroad).

You could also check out my blog why not here:

For more pics and construction notes.

It wasn't hard to make so I encourage anyone who needs a river to give it try.

Looks good! I've used the nice, Swedish, railway modeler man's loo roll and PVA glue technique as well. It really is a simple, and easy to use technique, that produces good results.

Nice job yourself! In fact, I think yours came out better than mine. 😀
