Hi chaps, does anyone out there know of a figure suitable to represent BBC1's afternoon sleuth "Father Brown"? Preferably in his Mark Williams incarnation.

I'd also like "Mrs McCarthy" and "Bunty" figures too, but I think I should be able to find them fairly easily.

I am open to a bit of conversion work if necessary.

Thanks in advance, cheers Roger.

I don't have an answer, but I'd love to know what game you're going to use him in!

My wife and I watch "Father Brown" and I don't think either of the recommendations will work without a lot of modification, especially to add the cassock he normally wears.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, Deucy,I don't really have a game in mind at the moment to be honest, I just really fancy painting the figures (sorry).

ColCampbell, as I said I'm not adverse to some conversion work (in fact I quite enjoy it), but I'm sure I've seen something closer (facially)somewhere before. My wife and I have both become big fans over the last couple of lockdowns too (as we are usually at work when it's on!), Might end up looking for a Shakespeare and Hathaway next!(lol).

Cheers Roger.

Perhaps the Warlord Games Dad's Army range might suit? The sey with the vicar and verger, who has a cassock on.

Thanks Callsign, its a possibility, but I don't really want to have to spend £40.00 GBP on the box set for one figure, couldn't see then for sale individually.

There is a "Harry Palmer" figure in one of Artizans "Kiss kiss bang bang" range that looks favourite at the moment.

They also have a figure perfect for Inspector Mallory (would just have to add the moustache) now I didn't want him but now I know I can….

Cheers Roger.

Possibly one of the Redoubt Jesuits could be adapted link

Less likely are link

The Jesuit Missionary figure from Sash and Saber Castings looks promising link FWF501 sashandsaber.com (but they are in the US so a small order could be very expensive).

You might find suitable figures from hobby railway trackside figures. Here are a couple of Preiser figures (in this case sold by HobbyLinc)

Trackside figures would be a good source for Mrs McCarthy and Bunty.

However as HO scale these are smaller than what you want.

P.S. I also enjoy Shakespeare and Hathaway for lightweight entertainment.

Thanks guys, so good recommendations there, I have to have a think and perhaps keep looking.

Demosthenes, that second trackside fig would be perfect if he was 28mm, I've got a couple of ideas as far as Bunty and Mrs "M" go, if this ever gets anywhere I'll post my result up on TMP.

Shakespeare and Hathaway is OK but it's not a patch on Father B, but better than that Mallorca Files thing that was on a few weeks back, IMHO, Cheers Roger.

The one hour Poirots, and the Geraldine McEwan Miss Marple's are good.

There's also the Wargames Foundry WW2 civilians – clearly inspired by Dad's Army. The Verger might do with a new hat and a filed down face (he's s a bit too jowly) – see link…

The lady with handbag (Mrs Fox I think would perhaps do as a Mrs McCarthy) and there's also a bicycle! The lady with the bicycle might be converted to Bunty but that looks much harder.

Pegasus California Mission Padres? They are 1/48th, but may be a good starting point.

This is 1/35 scale so this time bigger than what you want, but the priest looks right.

when it is my night to cook dinner, I always put on Father Brown when I am cooking the bacon.

Obviously I usually cook breakfast dinner, to ensure I get my weekly bacon allotment.
