Wow.

What a day and what a game.

I will be back some day soon with details on all aspects of yesterday's events, including the results. It was the 3rd consecutive weekend we played the game remotely via GOOGLE MEET -- Saturday Aug. 15, Sat. Aug. 22, & Sun. Aug 30.

For now all I'll say is that it was AN EPIC SLUGFEST -- maybe the toughest, hardest fought miniature wargame I've ever participated in.

My two fellow GMs, my son Skylar and our good friend Matthew, and all 6 players -- Afghans Bob, Nick & Phil, and British Jeff, Mike & Dan -- did a great job of hanging in there through the mix of epic highs and grinding lows.

Happily for all of us the game reached a definitive conclusion, and I'll tell you all about that the next time I post, after catching my breath and dealing with some "real life" work stuff.

Until then, here are some pics I took just before we kicked off the final leg of the Battle of Kandahar/Baba Wali 140th Anniversary Tour, and a LINK to my blog, which has a few more…

Legendary! How many VCs were awarded? How many went to their God like soldiers?

Now that's a true colonial battle!
You could feel the tension just by looking at the pictures.

@Legionarius: Indeed one "Order of Merit" was awarded (Rolled the required "6" on a D6!), to a member of the 5th Gurkhas (Native troops weren't eligible for the VC until 1907). Re: casualties… far too many British, Indian and Nepalese were KIA, along with far too many WIA, and an even more terribly high number of Afghans.

I humbly invite you to visit this other TMP post to learn more about the game's THRILL-PACKED CONCLUSION:
