Hi All, Like the title says I am looking to do a quick project to wargame movies like Alien and Aliens, etc. My problem is deciding what to do. I am deciding between Khurasan and Pendraken. I like Pendraken better, but they are 10mm scale so maybe a little too small. I use Blue Moon for Old West gaming and they are 15mm (some say 18mm) and I am comfortable with that scale. Having said that, I have heard that the Pendraken "Alien Creatures" are larger and could be interpreted to be at about 15mm. So my idea is to try to find 15mm space marines and 15mm futuristic civilians that may go well with the Pendraken Aliens. An APC would be cool too. Is my idea crazy? Like maybe Khurasan marines/civilians with Pendraken Aliens? The other solution is just all the way with Pendraken space marines/civilians/APC but that may be too small for me. And other solution is to go all the Khurasan, but I really like Pendraken aliens better…. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Maybe someone else out there encountered this dilemma once before. Thanks. |

There are all sorts of Xenomorphs out there, including Khurasan, Freikorps (not bad by the way), and others. I have seen other posts about mixing the Pendraken aliens with 15mm figures…and I would think getting a mix of two or three companies simply represents the aliens are various stages of growth. For Marines, Khurasan for me is the way to go. For civvies, again, several companies out there, like Freikorps, GZG, and others. I say get a pack of Pendraken and a pack of Khurasan aliens and see them side by side. |

The Freikorps/QRF aliens are very good. I have loads (but then, I'm their US dealer too).

Wow! Thanks a lot guys. Never heard of Freokorp/QRF so now I have more difficulty in my decision, not less haha. Freikorps/QRF queen looks good too. Also Khurasan aliens are growing on me too. It's just that that little triangle tail at the end kinda bothers me, but like I said I am starting to like them more, especially as I have been looking a other people's paintjobs. I also found gruntz15.proboards.com/thread/248/pendraken which shows a comparison of Pendraken aliens with GZG space marines. So looks close. In the original Alien movie the alien was played by some 7' 2" tall guy so aliens need only be slightly larger to look right. And Buckeye's strategy of buying some of each is something that my searching has also found that people do mixing and matching between different sculpts to give more vartiety. So I am thinking now to go that route and buy what I like from the different manufacturers. So thanks again; really appreciate the help. |
