Hello everyone, Where to find Hyborean Flags to download for 25 / 32mm figures? Thank you in advance… |
evilgong | 05 May 2019 4:27 a.m. PST |
If you can get hold of the Royal armies of the Hyborian age' the suggested flags are described there, IIRC the author said if they were not exactly in the books he might put them in future pastiches. From memory the flags are not too weird and could be found in ancient or medieval historical examples. |

Paskal, I think Howard only gives three flags, and those sketchily--Aquilonia, Nemedia and Poitain. After that, you're free to use whatever strikes your fancy. There's some point in following "Royal Armies of the Hyborean Age" if you can find a copy, but it's hard to find and it's not canon. |

I think it may also be available on DrivethruRPG or the like |

Try link for several downloadable flag sheets based on "Royal Armies…" |

I stand very much corrected, and now have my own PDF. Thank you, Hunlion and Yogi. But I'll stand by the scarcity of canonical standards. Paskal, use what makes you happy. |

@ evilgong: I have many exemplars of the 'Royal Armies of the Hyborian Age', the suggested flags are described, but what I want are not descriptions, but themselves!Thank you. @ robert piepenbrink: Yes thank you, it's hard to find, but it exists! Very interesting what you say, so where do flags come out that we see on link. And at Fanaticus? Oops! That page can not be found!Thank you. I need flags to download … Thank you. @ Hunlion and YogiBearMinis: Please links, Hunlion there are no flags in the rule, only descriptions, thank you. @ YogiBearMinis and GurKhan: For the Keywords Hyborean Flags the answer is: "There is no product that matches your search criteria Did you mean …? Thank you. |

Plenty of flags here: link |
JimDuncanUK | 05 May 2019 11:31 a.m. PST |
Spelling Hyborian correctly seems to do the trick. |
robert piepenbrink | 05 May 2019 3:05 p.m. PST |
Jim, let's be reasonable here. This is the 21st Century. You can no more expect people to spell than you can ask them to write grammatical sentences or construct paragraphs. (And I'll be back to reading dead authors this evening.) |
Paskal | 05 May 2019 11:59 p.m. PST |
@JimDuncanUK: You have not read previous messages? Read them ! Your link has already been proposed to me, it is the first one that is found when one does a search on Google! you also wrote "Spelling Hyborian, but it seems to be the trick." ? On drivethrurpg.com for the Keywords Hyborean Flags the answer is: "There is no product that matches your search criteria Did you mean …? and for Hyborian Flags the result is off topic!I have tried, not you! @robert piepenbrink:
You were writing"Jim, let's be reasonable here. This is the 21st Century. You can no more expect people to spell than you can ask them to write grammatical sentences or construct paragraphs. (And I'll be back to reading dead authors this evening.)" You take me for whom and you take you for whom? |

You mean it's not Hyperborean? |
robert piepenbrink | 06 May 2019 3:05 p.m. PST |
Alas, Bill. It's the Hyborian Age normally, but Lin Carter's Guidebook is "Royal Armies of the Hyborean Age." It was by no means the worst thing he and de Camp did to the writings of Robert E. Howard, but it does interfere with computer searches. In that context, Hyperborea would be an obscure kingdom east of Asgard and north of Brythunia. |

So I was right, but that's not the point,I need what I'm looking for and not your course of "literature" ;-) |

@ YogiBearMinis and GurKhan: For the Keywords Hyborean Flags the answer is: "There is no product that matches your search criteria Did you mean …? Thank you. I don't quite understand where you are finding a problem, Paskal. If you follow the link I gave, link, it goes directly to a page which contains several illustrations of "Hyborian" flags. As robert piepenbrink's last post points out, the spellings "Hyborian" and "Hyborean" are both used for the same thing (though "Hyborian" is the original and correct version), so I assume these are the flags you want those of Robert E Howard's Conan-era kingdoms. You don't need to search for anything, click on the link given and those flags are right there staring at you. You said on the other thread? that "it is not to download". I do not understand this. One can download more or less anything in Windows, just right-click on the flag-sheet and select "Save image as…", and I presume there's some similar option on other operating systems. |

Paskal- I presume this is NOT what you are after then?
|

@ GurKhan: When to copy or save the image with the right click, you can see that I tried but because they are too small for 25 / 32mm figurines, you are obliged to enlarge it and then the result becomes ugly … For the subject itself, piepenbrink has told there is a $ 5.00 USD PDF. This is the "Royal Armies of The Hyborean Age" Rule that is for sale $ 5.00 USD PDF link It is not this rule that Iwant but a board of flags and there are no flags in this rule I know it I have several examples of this rule … From the beginning there was a confusion about the terms "Hyborian" and "Hyborean" personally I used the term "Hyborean"as L.Carter, I was wrong to trust him. I used both and I'm told "You can no longer expect people to write to you" construct paragraphs. "??? It was not me who was wrong! @Gwydion: That's exactly what I want, it exists in the trade or in PdF ? |
Gwydion | 07 May 2019 4:47 a.m. PST |
Those are from the link above at maximumrockroleplaying site. The link there points to the old Fanaticus.org site that was abandoned in 2016 TMP link and presumably taken up by a different type of game organisation. The new Fanaticus site does not appear to have any Hyborian flags and a quick search for the flags by Mike Stelzer does not show any results for me. I am reluctant to suggest using these without attribution or payment but they are on that blog and can be downloaded. All references to Mike Stelzer's Hyborian works seem to lead to his discontinued page on the DBA Fanaticus site and I have no idea how to contact him to ask his permission to use them. The references in various forums suggest he was making the information widely available however. Does anyone know where he is now so Paskal could ask permission? (perhaps the owner of the maximumrockroleplaying site may know?) |

Thank you for your help Gwydion …We are finally there! Because now I remember it's on the old Fanaticus.org website that I had seen them! But now between those who tell me that I confuse Hyborean with Hyborian and who write by betting on me : "his is the 21st Century. You can no more expect people to spell than you can ask them to write grammatical sentences or construct paragraphs. (And I'll be back to reading dead authors this evening)."and those who think that I speak of the Hyperborean ???
It's enough for me,: – / By cons can be that for the respect of the work of Howard himself, I will certainly do that the Scarlet dragon on a gold field of Nemedia, the golden lion of Aquilonia and the crimson leopard of Poitain since it seems that the other armies Hyborian (not hyborean or Hyperborean as some say: – |) did not have flags … |
Paskal | 07 May 2019 10:54 p.m. PST |
Now, it will stop to give wrong to those who are right! By cons, in the work of Howard himself, the dimension of the flags, is not given? |
