I just assembled my last 16 Wargames Factory Persian infantry and, you know, I've assembled at least 75 of those guys and I think I *just* figured out how to get 'em right, you know, with their quivers attached at the right places. I'm sure I could track down a few more sprues of WGF Persians but I don't want to do that. I want Victrix to make some. I mean, they make a Macedonian army. Who is it supposed to fight? Moreover, does ANYBODY else make plastic Achaemenid Persians in 28mm scale? I'll grant that not that many people play that army, but those who do certainly need their men in bulk. |

I agree, come to think of it, why does no-one do colonial period Afghan warriors/ Pashtun in plastic!!! |

Macedonians fought the Greeks and the Romans. |

I would love to see a complete range of METAL 28mm Achaemenid Persians. Alas this might be a period I don't get armies for! Chris |

I like the WGF Persians. Have a whole Hail Caeser army of then. Someone else doing them in plastic would be OK, though. Yep, need plastic Afghans and FFL ! |

I asked about it a few months ago, and the Persians were surprisingly popular. Apparently there are a bunch of guys doing the army. |

What's wrong with using metal ones? I have tons of the Foundry ones and they are quite nice. |

For those of us gamers that like plastic, here are some Pro's: Cost Ease to covert (just need an exacto and glue) WEIGHT! It's a preference thing. And yes, Victrix is really missing the boat. |

I don't object to metal minis, but for my Persian army I would appreciate the low cost and light weight of plastic. |

Persian armies have to be huge, you see. Big army of crap soldiers. That's their shtick. |

Is that not true? I'm referencing those several battles (Platea, Marathon, Gaugamela) where Persians outnumbered Greeks 3 or 4 to one, but since their "soldiers" were untrained, undisciplined, wearing pajamas and carrying wicker shields and couldn't even speak the same language, ended up defeated. The Immortals may have been better quality soldiers, but I've never read about a battle in which the Immortals achieved anything strategic or decisive. If you know of a different interpretation, I'm interested to read it. |

Those Greek victories were all made possible because of the success of the Greek naval forces. If the Persian navy had free reign the Greeks would not have been able to fight those aforementioned battles. Plus the Persians did conquer Ioniand had a huge land empire so the Greeks did not triumph all the time. I also wish Victrix would make Persians. Their ancients ranges are superb. |

Let's all write to Victrix on this topic so they'll know how great the demand is. |
