Unlike Hurricane Irma last year HURRICON is quite welcome! Some of the finest gaming the South has to offer. Just one treat awaiting attendees TMP link

Admission at the door is $35 USD for HMGS-South members as well as members of other HMGS chapters. $45 USD for general public. And yes there is a day pass available at $25. USD Though registration has closed you can find out all the information on location and even look over the Preliminary Events List (PEL) here:

Plenty of games, vendors and just great camaraderie. So hoist the HURRICON warning flags and make plans to attend!

Once again a 3d printing display and demo with printers at work will be on hand at Hurricon held in Orlando, Florida last weekend in September. Many examples of plotted files will be on display so you can see first hand whether taking the plunge peeks your interest. We will be more than happy to share what experience we have….and eager to hear yours.

Ever wonder what the impact of 3d printing will be on your favorite hobby or how it will change the economics of wargaming. While the industry is replete with purveyors of all your war gaming needs the future is on the horizon where we might be making our own 3d files to print or purchasing one of the many Kickstarters….not to mention the growing number of files the community is sharing for free. With a $20 USD roll of filament you would be amazed at the number of items you can print.

Need to print up some terrain? Files for buildings, bridges, roads, rivers, redoubts, dungeons, fortifications… entire towns and trappings are available for every genre. Someone out there has a file for that obscure vehicle or variant you need for a one-off scenario you have always wanted to run. Figures for the most part will still need to be purchased as non-resin printers will not be able to match the quality you might demand.

Want to change scales? No easier than a few keystrokes on your free slicer program.

Need templates, counters and "organizers" to support your latest interest? Someone has most likely already provides those things…hosted in "Thingiverse." Can't find what you need?….put that computer savvy video game designing niece or nephew to work.

Please save the date… and stop on by!

Really looking forward to it! Trying to put the last touches on my troops and get everything packed & ready. There's a lot of great games listed, so many it's hard to choose which ones to join.
Cheers,
JB

have fun everybody at recon, but with my two favorite cons the same weekend(recon/Recruits) I had to make the tough choice.

Dan Grule will have a selection of my terrain stuff for sale in the dealer room.
