How frequently do you include in your armies a figure that represents yourself? * never * rarely * sometimes * often * all the time |

Check out the OFM's avatar. It's a Front Rank "portly Gentlemen with tankard". He likes to oversee the action. Yup. That's us. There will be a company at Historicon that will do a 3D scan of your head and print him out as an "action figure". Check it out: TMP link |

Real me? Never. My real life combat experiences do not play well on the miniatures table. Me in an appropriate role? Sometimes. I have SWMBO and me as leaders of an imagination (Slobovia). I have all four members of my family as various superheroes. I have SWMBO and me as postapoc/gangers. I have civilian "inaction figures" of SWMBO and me (me drinking a cup of coffee). I don't necessarily use them in all the games I play in those genres. |

I always try to make a special miniature for myself… usually a period-appropriate model with a bunny head, bunny feet, and a little bunny tail… |

Never unless you count Dungeons and Dragons and related "battles". |

Sometimes, for skirmish level games. I find I try to avoid getting him killed, not always the soundest approach tactically, or the safest. Grelber |

Often. My games tend to be solo affairs, so having a mini-me on the table shifts to focus to 'my' story instead of just dice rolling. From the responses above, I may be doing it wrong. |

I have certain "alter egos" that I use as my commander's name in many battles, but none actually painted to represent myself. Jim |

I am by definition the highest command element on my side. My opponent similarly. Do I need a particular figure? No I've died too many times. Making yourself the commander helps to to keep it it plausible. Like occasionally looking outside to see what a building looks like even 100m away. Stops the idiots going I want to shoot at that man in that window 100m away, he would be easy to see. |

When I first got into miniature gaming a friend painted a Legion of Steel miniature for each one of us in the gaming group with our names and some identifying art on the knee pad. |

Never. It's hard enough to endure the shame of defeat without also getting myself "killed" in the bargain! |
