Hi all!

Whelp, Historicon is almost upon us, and I wanted to make sure to invite folks over to the Minuteman Miniatures booth (#200) for a free scan, and maybe a Miniature You!

We have a HUGE library of figures currently available, including…

link

For WWII skirmish gamers, an American Officer and a Waffen SS officer.

link

For ancients gamers, a Roman General and a Greek king.

link

For Dark Ages gamers, a Viking warlord, a Norman knight, and not just one but TWO Scottish lords.

picture

For space gamers, our Armored Legionnaire, our Hellspawn Legionnaire, and our Space Ronin.

link

And now, at Historicon we will be releasing our Brother Versus Brother line, which will consist of nine miniatures…

* Mounted Confederate Colonel waving kepi
* Mounted Confederate Colonel waving slouch hat
* Dismounted Confederate Colonel advancing with sword
* Dismounted Confederate Colonel advancing with slouch hat on sword
* Mounted Union Colonel waving kepi
* Mounted Union Colonel waving slouch hat
* Dismounted Union Colonel advancing with sword
* Dismounted Union Colonel advancing with slouch hat on sword
* Mounted AWI Colonel motioning with tricorn

Thanks to several months of hard-earned lessons, we've got our total scan time down to about a minute and change, we're now able to take credit card payments, we've got a signup forum for people who want to plan ahead…

link

And, thanks to five new printers and a dedicated workshop, we should be able to get people their Miniature Yous quicker than ever.

We hope to see everyone there… oh, and just so everyone knows…

We've got another new wave coming… a TWENTY figure wave of ROLE PLAYING figures, ten male and ten female, that are PERFECT for the D&D players out there… so get your free scan now, so you are ready to explore as Cleric You, Fighter You, or Wizard you!

link

These will be released at GenCon, so stay tuned!

Oh; and we have tanks. Lots and lots of tanks. Small tanks. Big tanks. And FREAKING HUGE tanks.

Thanks all… please do stop by for a scan and to say hi!

Zombie?

Lord Ashram08 Jul 2018 10:37 a.m. PST

Hah! No, we WANTED to be able to do both zombies and zombie survivors, but the tech to do full body scans (which is what we'd need to do it right) is just financially out of reach:(

Personal logo Mister Tibbles Supporting Member of TMP08 Jul 2018 11:02 a.m. PST

An entire army of me. Now that would be shocking!

BTW really cool tech there, LA!

Lord Ashram08 Jul 2018 11:23 a.m. PST

Thanks man! We are still REALLY learning… not just learning in terms of business, but the tech itself… like, Mike (who does all the production and REAL work) did like 30 hours of printing of orders, and then found that, for some strange reason, the heads of all the figures were hollow and filled with liquid resin! Now he has to figure out WHY, and there isn't like a playbook or anything that explains it.

It is tough, not just starting a business ( I could write a BOOK on the pitfalls of SHIPPING ALONE), but the tech behind it is really tough to get a handle on too. Hundreds and hundreds of hours dedicated to figuring it out. My only hope is that, once people get the product in their hand, that they really love it.

It's interesting… I made my dad a figure recently, a French colonel.

picture

He is 92 years old, and was really interested in it.

And it struck me… that figure is going to be around for a long, long time. Long after my father passes away, he will be a colonel in my French army.

And I love that. I just think it is SO so cool.

And when my armies go on to my son, he will have both his dad and his grandad in his armies.

Just a really cool side note that I never really considered before, you know?

altfritz08 Jul 2018 1:38 p.m. PST

Can you upscale the AWI to 40mm?

Lord Ashram08 Jul 2018 2:13 p.m. PST

Yep, we an do any scale you want… just printed out a 170mm Scot for someone:)

Jim (I assume this is you?) are you going to be at Historicon? Would love to meet and express in person how much I've loved your blog all these years!:)

Wildman08 Jul 2018 3:26 p.m. PST

What size/scale is the E-100? Do you do 20mm armor?

altfritz08 Jul 2018 4:15 p.m. PST

Sorry, he is "Der Alt Fritz" IIRC. Doesn't mean he won't be there though…

altfritz08 Jul 2018 4:19 p.m. PST

Are the scans kept on file so one could order other figures later? Like ordering a new suit of clothes from your tailor…

altfritz08 Jul 2018 4:24 p.m. PST

Signed up! :-)

Lord Ashram08 Jul 2018 4:35 p.m. PST

Ah! Okay, sorry, I just assumed!

Yes, we do keep the scan on file… the whole idea is that we only ever have to scan you once, barring changes to a haircut or whatever… you'll notice that the more recent Mikes actually have his current full beard, whereas the original Mikes have his goatee from that period. But yeah, one scan should be enough for most people:) And be sure to say hi and introduce yourself!:D

That E100 is 28mm. We can do any armor in basically any scale, so especially for those tough-to-find ones that the major manufacturers don't make… we've got you covered!

We have the entire list of tanks on our website:

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP08 Jul 2018 5:27 p.m. PST

OK, I was scanned at Cold Wars. Is there a way to tell you now I need two 28mm and two 54mm AWI colonels? (ACW will follow, but there is such a thing as a budget.)

Private Matter08 Jul 2018 5:41 p.m. PST

I want to get these of my son and myself but I can not get to any of the conventions. Is there a way we could send you a scan that would be compatible?

Lord Ashram08 Jul 2018 7:53 p.m. PST

Hey!

PM, generally we don't accept third party scans… we just have no way of checking the quality or format or anything, and are afraid it will just end up being a lot more work than it already is (a solid thirty minutes per figure.)

Rob, I can check with Mike, but my gut instinct is probably not… we are leaving in just a few days, and I know he has a lot left to do. I'll check with him though.

jefritrout09 Jul 2018 8:11 a.m. PST

I will definitely get a scan this time. At Cold Wars everytime I stopped by there were at least 4 other people waiting for their scans. We did have a nice chat though about other ideas, many of which you have incorporated.

Jeff

Lord Ashram09 Jul 2018 8:21 a.m. PST

Hey Jeff!

For sure, come by! The process at Cold Wars took like 10 minutes… we've got it down to about a minute now, PLUS we have a signup webpage…

link

Edit: Ah, just saw that you signed up:D

And no more hand written invoices… everything is on an iPad now. As I said… its been a learning experience!:D

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP09 Jul 2018 8:47 a.m. PST

Lord Ashram, Fall In will be fine. There just didn't seem to be a way to place an order as opposed to getting in line for a scan. In fact, for Fall In, you could add two 54mm AWI colonels a Union 54mm mounted with slouch hat and a Confederate 54mm mounted with kepi. That catches me up until you get to British Napoleonics.

Lord Ashram09 Jul 2018 9:27 a.m. PST

Hey Bob!

Okay, sounds good; yeah, the best way to order is to send us an email. We never did an online store, because we knew we'd get a bunch of people who didn't understand they needed a scan first, and would pay us without having gotten scanned, and it would be a mess.

Scans now only take less than a minute, so things should go much quicker now:)

Shoot us an email when you want us to send you an invoice for the figures, or if you want I can send you one now?

We won't actually be at Fall In this year… we are going out to Gamehole Con… we are trying to get to different areas of the US, since everyone just needs to see us for one scan, really… trying to get the midwest covered:) We figure we've gotten a good number of the HMGS East folks, what with Cold Wars and now Historicon:)

Winston Smith09 Jul 2018 2:42 p.m. PST

Sorry to be a dense computer illiterate old fart, but I just can't get to any tanks from the link you provided. I can only get the facial scanning.

I'm particularly interested in 15mm WWII Hungarian tanks.

MiniPatton09 Jul 2018 3:22 p.m. PST

Hopefully coming out west is in the future as I would love to be able to get a miniature of myself and others.

Winston Smith09 Jul 2018 7:27 p.m. PST

How about a sprue of 5 heads, so we can make our own zombies?

Or do separate heads with tricorne, kepi, bare headed?
We're all egomaniacs here. grin Though some may be a tad cheap…

TRUgamer15 Aug 2018 4:14 p.m. PST

Lord Ashram,
Any update on orders from Hcon and NJCONX?
I know you guys were talking about having some technical issues?
I have friend who I convinced to get a scan and he's wondering when he will receive his order.

Thanks,

TRU

Old Contemptibles15 Aug 2018 6:28 p.m. PST

You guys need to have someone do scanning out west and send them to you. I would start with the two Denver Conventions. Especially since they are close enough for me to drive to.

Would be really neat to get our club members into a Bolt Action unit.

TRUgamer17 Aug 2018 9:41 a.m. PST

Bump

streetgang618 Aug 2018 7:27 a.m. PST

Has anyone received their H'con order yet? Just asking as I'm eagerly waiting to get my heroic mini-me.

Lord Ashram19 Aug 2018 2:08 p.m. PST

Hey guys! Unfortunately I can't really help very much with updates on production, I'm sort of out of that end of things, and a bit out of the loop with the company in general … I believe that Historicon orders are going out within a few weeks… The week or two post Historicon was basically entirely preparation for Gen Con… that place was nuts! :-) The best thing to do if you are curious about a particular order is email the owner Mike at orders@minutemanminiatures.com. Sorry I can't be more help!

dantheman19 Aug 2018 3:35 p.m. PST

I am still waiting for figures at NJCON I ordered in early June. Sent a couple emails for updates but still no response….

Is it possible to do the figures in 20mm ?

Rev Zoom19 Sep 2018 8:30 a.m. PST

Anybody get their Historicon order yet? Or are we faced with another scamming thief?

DaleWill Supporting Member of TMP19 Sep 2018 9:48 a.m. PST

Any tanks listed on the web site? Very interested in some Cold War vehicles.

TRUgamer19 Sep 2018 10:34 a.m. PST

I received both my Hcon and NJCON orders a little over a week ago. A friend of mine also received his last week.
They are printed with a clear, yet more durable plastic now and the figures look very good.

Lord Ashram22 Sep 2018 8:00 a.m. PST

Definitely not a scam… just a dude who is totally overwhelmed:)

I don't think the tanks are on the website right now… Mike is just so focused on the Miniature You stuff that I think he doesn't want to add to an already-overloaded mental load?

Yeah, we switched resins again, to a less brittle one… it seems like a good move, because smaller bits will just bend instead of break if, heavens forbid, you drop it.

But yeah, if you ordered something, email Mike and pester him relentlessly! I know he gets a lot of emails and gets overwhelmed by them sometimes, but he will get it sorted out!

Lord Ashram22 Sep 2018 8:01 a.m. PST

Oh and yes, with the new resin nearly any scale is doable:)

capncarp23 Sep 2018 12:31 p.m. PST

Have been telling my coworkers about doing this to get a "Mini-Me". Now they are SURE I am weirder than they ever thought.
