So I'm not knowledgeable enough about 1st Century BCE Germans and later Dark Age Germans to know what the major differences between the two are.

My question is, if I just changed the Heads on the Gripping Beast D.A figures to have the appropriate hair style would that make them close enough to represent the Cimbri & Teutones or would that be reaching?

If it would work, where could I get appropriate heads to work on the G.B. bodies?

Sorry if this has been discussed before. My search came up with no related results.

Cheers.

The bodies might be OK but the shields would be wrong- possibly also the spears. Perhaps look at the Warlord Germans?

I forgot the shields! Although I suppose those could be converted too.

I've seen the Warlord range. I don't think it's their best range. The skirmishers look pretty good but the infantry and cavalry sets don't excite me.

I'd certainly go with them if I couldnt find anything better!

Take a look and see if you can find the Warlord Games 'Ancient Germans'.

The Warlord set is merely their Celt set with some metal heads.

There are lots of extras: heads, shields, weapons, instruments, banners, so you would be able to use the extras to try to convert some other figures.

If you are interested, please feel free to message/email me. (can you do pm's on here?)

@wmyers, you mean Wargames Factory.

OOPS! I was thinking Wargames Factory but I typed Warlord Games by mistake …

Yes, Wargames Factory Ancient Germans (good thing I added a couple pictures and a link …).
