Hi there, I've just been offered an opportunity to relocate to Ponte Vedra in Florida – I believe it's pretty close to Jacksonville.

Lots to consider, but finding a place with an active wargaming scene is important to me, so asking here if anyone knows if there are clubs or stores in the area that people play at?

I'm mostly into the more mainsyream games -40K, Bolt Action, Flames of War, X-Wing etc, but am open to anything!

You might want to ask on the Facebook HMGS south page. Also check the Boardgamegeek User Finder

boardgamegeek.com/users.php

and the Southeast Group/Gamer finder forum

I had a similar question when I moved here last fall.

There are several gaming stores in the Jacksonville area with gaming tables. There does not seem to be much in the way of historical gaming at these stores, but lots of SF and fantasy miniature gaming. Borderlands Comics and Games on the east side of the Jacksonville area is the one I've been going to on Friday evenings for historical gaming.

A very large group of gamers with several active stores. They not only run their own show in Feb, but support the two Orlando shows each year.

All extremely helpful thank you! I'm currently living in CT, so I'm familiar with HMGS East – should've thought to look up HMGS Southeast!

Actually HMGS-South :)

The link gamertom provided is still accurate. Jacksonville Garrison very active and a great group. Rapier an excellent convention and great way to meet others in your area. And South has two super conventions in Orlando, RECON (last full weekend in April) and HURRICON (last full weekend in September). So good groups and three conventions to scratch your convention itch.
