Going a bit nuts last-minute building the three spaceships that will be the focus of my Adepticon Mech Attack scenario.
Here's the start of one being built from a Star Wars toy.

Here's a second one whose starting point was a "Power Rangers Mission response Vehicle", but has alot of other toy chunks grafted on.

Full details, pics and my rambling explanations are here:

And a reminder that if you're going to Adepticon and need something to do on Saturday Morning, I've still got 2 spots left for "Mech Attack, Shootout at Valestetch Spaceport"! I guarantee big mech models on a big table with awesome terrain!

I always dig seeing pics of your mech games.

Check these out:

You can find it for under $10 USD at times.

..same deal. Often goes for $10 USD or less.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for the Matchbox and I may order that Space Hawk. Very cool.

Love your stuff! I had one of those Star Wars toys and did similar conversion. I picked it up at the local Good Will store for 5 bucks.

Nice work, what's that blue ship in the background?

I just bought one of those orange towers a couple months ago.
I guess great minds think alike!

Thanks! The ship behind the Star Wars one is a Toy Story Buzz Lightyear ship, again picked up at the local Good Will.

Cool, I love that setup and I'll definitely be looking for the lightyear ship now! Great cargo areas. Is there a post or topic anywhere with more pics of that game?

One more question if I may, what's the grey one on the right side? Is it a fisher price? I think I might have seen a similar white ship at a resale shop and not bought it, which I now regret.

I also recently got what I think is a blue version of the gold ship. Mine has no cockpit cover though so if I use it I'll flip it upside down.

Is it a fisher price?

Sure looks like that one; I think I've seen it other than white, by the way.

I don't recognize the gold, but it reminds me of how I'm always on the look out for the Animal Planet Deep Sea submarine, though none have made it to thrift stores around here, yet…

That "Power Rangers Mission response Vehicle" is an eye-opener. I'm sure I gave it a 'meh' in the toy store. Power Rangers. Glorified truck.

'None so blind as will not see…' ;->=

The gold ship is the Mon-stars ship from the movie "Space Jam."

The grey, blue and yellow space shuttle-ish ship is another Good Will find. I do believe it is a Fisher Price toy.

The Space 1999 Eagle is a paper craft model from Deviant Art printed out on cardstock.

Here are some picture galleries for the game. I would have posted them earlier, but I did not want to hijack your thread.

Thanks!
I'll start looking through them tonight.

I noticed that the model kits for the Space 1999 ship and the 2001 shuttle are both available fairly affordably now. Not as cheap of course as my resale toys for conversion, but I think they're well under $40 USD now.

Gotta keep from getting carried away though. Even after my big 3, I've got at least 4 medium sized ships in the bin I could do up.

Amazing stuff! Where are those Cylon minis from?

SymphonicPoet02 Feb 2019 12:29 a.m. PST

Oh, nicely done Ordinarybass! I may have to look one of those up. :D Can't wait to see them fully finished and in paint.

And Alex757, some great stuff there as well.
