Hey all! Well, Day One of "Make Yourself as a Miniature" at Cold Wars is in the books! We were so happy to meet so many fellow gamers today, and especially glad we could do SO many scans! Our current lineup consists of… … a French Napoleonic colonel on horseback … a Roman general … a World War 2 Waffen SS officer … a World War 2 American Army officer … a Warhammer or Frostgrave suitable hero … and a Greek general … and, for the fantasy folks, a he-and-she set of a Liche and a Succubus! A PIECE OF NEWS! Thanks to all of the people committing to new figures on the "Of, By, For Gamers" board, we will, in the next few weeks, be producing… … an American Civil War officer …a Dark Ages Scottish Highlander … and a Viking! So if that was a figure you said you were interested in, and you sat for a scan… well, in a few weeks we will shoot you an email and we will use your archived image to create you… for you! So if YOU ever imagined yourself as a French Napoleonic Colonel crossing the fields at Waterloo, or an American Officer leading your men through occupied France, or as a Warhammer general, or a Frostgrave hero… or now on the battlefield on Antietam or the Scottish moors or raiding England… come on by for a free scan and ask us about getting it done, in nearly any scale you could want! And if there is a figure we do NOT offer that you really want… come by for a scan and vote for what you WOULD want, and we may make it! So come on down and add to the vote total for Cowboy or Pirate or Norman or American Revolutionary hero… or whatever you'd like! Booth 200, right across from Battlefront… Minuteman Miniatures! Thanks again to everyone… and come on by and say hi! link |

Any plans to make it to the west coast? |

I did not make Cold wars. sigh. What is your company and how much per figure.? Thanks. Could I send a picture and receive a figure via snail mail.? |

I would imagine a 3D exercise like this needs to scan the subject in 3D. Snag about photos, they tend to be two dimensional, for now anyway. Still think this is the most brilliant idea in a long while! |

Are you planning to be at Historicon in July? |

I saw a fantasy army where the owner used his passport photos as standards. They were made to look a bit like Russian icons. DB |

(Above is our "Of, By, For Gamers board, with ALL of YOUR suggestions for eras that YOU want to star in, as of Saturday night! ) Hi all! Well, thanks to everyone who came by the Minuteman Miniatures booth today at Cold Wars! It was great getting to meet so many folks and talk about what we think is a cool little project! One piece of news from today… thanks to new people commiting to future scans, we will be able to offer a BOATLOAD of new figures in the next few weeks! We will now be doing a American Civil War, a Dark Ages Highlander, a Viking, a Mounted Norman, and an American Revolutionary War "YOU!"… they should be available in a few weeks! And if you want us to make available a Pirate you, a Cowboy you, a fantasy "Lord of the Rings" you, an American 30's Gangster you, a Pulp "Indiana Jones" style adventurer you, or a Napoleonic British Officer you, or a Samurai you… each are only a few more "votes" from getting made! So come on down for your free scan on Sunday when the Exhibitor Hall is open, sit for a five minute scan, and see what we can build for you!:) Thanks all!

Winston… if you ask for it and can find 9 or so other friends who want it, we'll do it! Tacitus, I am not sure if we will get West, but you never know… if people really want it, I guess why not?:) Mild, sorry, I'm working with a friend to do Minuteman Miniatures… minutemanminiatures.com Unfortunately we cannot work off a photo… we actually need a scan. But if we can see you at a convention, we'll scan you for free! Skeets, Rd, yep we will be there! And we are looking to add full body scans and come with some prop weapons and let people scan themselves complete for a Walking Dead game or whathaveyou! Evil, that's ridiculous. Ridiculously funny:) |

Hey all! Just wanted to mention… We still have a bunch of Italian World War 2 15mm tanks available at the show… If we drive home with them they sit on a shelf, but if you drive home with them they get played with… so for today we will sell them at $20 USD for five. So please come by and get yourself some Italian tanks! |

Too bad you need a 3D scan. I was thinking of bringing a picture of Joy Behar to make a pirate leader. TMP link |

I would like some information on ordering armored vehicles. I am in need of 4 wheeled French VAB vehicles if you can make them. |

Two of my friends I went down with thought they would like to be zombies. Just a thought. |
Poniatowski | 19 Mar 2018 5:34 a.m. PST |
It was an awesome and new addition… something everyone with a 3D printer and scanner is now kicking themselves over. Tech like this will be as everyday thing in the future of our shows.. it already is in other types of venues. |

Hey guys! King, yes, we are trying to get a booth at Historicon! Right now there aren't a ton of spaces still available, but we'll get there! Brad, we will post the list of tanks we have available on the website shortly. Looking at it, I see these French vehicles… Char B1 bis Renault R35 Renault UE (and trailer) Hotchkiss H35 Hotchkiss H38 Hotchkiss H39 Somua S35 … but I think we have some other files we haven't listed yet. Sorry, I'm a horse and musket guy, so once combustion engines show up I am out of my element!:) Winston, YES! We actually had people ask for zombies AND zombie fighters! I actually thought… if those two friends get together, they can make versions of themselves as zombies holding each others heads? We could do it!:) Dan, thanks much. It was exhausting but a TON of fun:) It is cool, but if it makes anyone feel any better, the initial investment is HUGE, so it isn't something that can be easily (or cheaply) done:) |
