All,
So my sons in law and I are planning to see the film next week. I am hesitant however of anything with an over 2 hour running time. Is it worth it? Yes, I am a fan of the original movie, and read the original story.

I haven't seen it but am a big fan of the original, that from reviews is a big help if you have seen the original ( and like it).

My youngest daughter and her husband saw it the other day. They loved it, two hours forty long.

They've both seen the original.

Saw it, liked it, but 15-20 minutes too long.
Worth seeing.

Pretty damn good IMHO. Visually amazing, the story fits into the original movie well but explains enough to act as a standalone, and ties up a few loose ends. Gosling is in good forming acting wise, Ford is terrific, and I was even impressed by Robin Wright and Dave Batista. Has a deep Noir feel to it as well.

I saw it and thought it was in the top 2 films of 2017. Loved it. It made me go out and buy the original. I had forgotten how good that film was. I think the new Blade Runner is in the style of the final cut Blade runner film. Probably the best film of 2017. Go see it. For me its what Ghost in the shell should have been.

Worth seeing, IMHO. Well tied into the original and keeps you guessing till the end.

Visually stunning. Could have been a little shorter or used a couple pieces of exposition to move things along.

Some scenes/themes could have been re-worked, my wife had issues with some of the female interactions

Was good. Saw it with a bunch of old uni friends I used to live with, we watched the heck out of the original and were glad to see a sci fi film that got us talking sf again.

3 short prequel films were released that give more info about key points of history in the film. You might want to watch them before the film. They contain no spoilers & help in understanding the film better.

Saw the original and didn't like it and I have no intention on seeing the new one as I have 0 interest in the film.

Even though Blade Runner is on my list of "Movies That Don't Need A Sequel," I liked it. I wouldn't say that it was as great as the original, but I enjoyed it.

I thought it was too slow. The soundtrack was abysmal. I didn't care what happened to any of the characters. It was interesting to look at, at least.

Really good, worthy successor and the original is probably my favourite film, though I thought the soundtrack was a bit duff and the backdrops almost too detailed lacking the raw atmosphere of the original. Liked K's character, but I thought the Joi character was almost more interesting than the replicants! The one thing that really got me was a couple of really horribly blatant bits of product placement.

Really liked it, although I would agree that the original probably didn't need a sequel. I plan to go and see it again as it is so much a big screen film & I'm sure I missed a few things 1st time round thumbs up

For awhile I thought it was a remake of Pinnochio, then I was pleasantly surprised. The soundtrack was a bit too raw in places for me.

I know the original is one of my favorite SF movies. Hopefully when I see the new one when it comes to cable, I won't be disappointed … I guess it is explained what happened to Rachel(Sean Young)since I don't see her in the previews. She may have reached her "expiration" date.

But like Gaff said, "Too bad she won't live. But then again … who does ? " evil grin
