Seated Minotaurs, with hands on their laps, maybe only about 40mm or 50mm in height? I'm NOT looking for anything too colossal.

Or is there one that I could convert?

Or would I need to sculpt or scratchbuild my own, and then just make a couple of copies to flank my gate?

Buy Bones Minoturs from Reaper, less than $3.00 USD each and convert. Check Crocidile Games for seated statues. Atlantis I am guessing?

Nnascati: "Atlantis, I am guessing?"

Spot on. A couple of them to flank the entrance to a forgotten Atlantean mine in the middle of a jungle (central Africa most likely, or maybe even South America).

I don't want them so massive as those in the pictures though. Only 50mm (2 inches) or so.

Check Pet stores or Aquarium supplies.

I hope things are going well for you Dan. The second through fourth pictures, what are they from? I guess a movie but which one? Thank you.

Thanks so much. That's from a 1965 Vincent Price film called City Under The Sea (Wargods of the Deep, in the US). Some think it was cheesy. I thought it was fun.

PS. It's got Atlantean fishmen, pirates, Victorians and even a chicken!

I'll look it up. Thank you.

I don't follow everything but now it is my family's turn as my sister and her husband, and a load of dogs, live in Sarasota. Here's hoping.

Stephen M,

Please stay safe, you and yours. Ok?

How about something like this Dan? It is something I can 3d print.

Cacique Caribe10 Sep 2017 7:32 p.m. PST

Hmm. I was hoping for an Egyptian-like seated posture.

I just remembered something. Did Hirst Arts have a seated statue about 2 inches tall in one of it's molds? If so, I'd be willing to buy a couple of castings if it. Maybe half a dozen, just in case my head conversion doesn't turn out right the first couple of tries. :)

Wow, where is that statue of the Bull-headed Shiva from?

You never know what you might find on ebay from China, I've never seen anything like these (but I haven't looked), but I've gotten all sorts of small statuettes on the cheap.

Dan,
Its only currently out of stock.

athun2511 Sep 2017 3:10 p.m. PST

In the US never forget to check out Petco and Petsmart. They often have Egyptian themed aquarium items. I have several Horus statues from them. A smaller pet supply store, Kahoots, even had Atlantis themed statues and buildings.

Nnascati: "Dan, it's only currently out of stock."

You are absolutely right! Let me see how soon they plan to produce their next batch.

Thanks again,

Statue of Set, on page 5, shows as in stock, and same pose.

Have to say I doubt they're large enough to your needs, but I know I'M damn tempted to take a look!

Wargods of the Deep? Sounds like a new gang in Houston's Fifth Ward.

Seriously, while it may be cheesy, as you point out Dan, a lot of times cheesy is, in fact, also a great deal of fun.

Cacique Caribe13 Sep 2017 6:50 p.m. PST

Wow, that DOES sound like an actual gang name! Lol

Probably bigger than 40-50mm, but Marshall's/TJ Maxx/ Homegoods might have a similar themed bookend that might work. I picked up a Sphinx that way.

grogbro15 Oct 2017 6:17 a.m. PST

I can sculpt them for you! :)
