A friend of mine went there a couple of years ago for a study. Well, believe it or not, there are families living there that never left the exclusion zone. They are mostly elderly folk (certainly no children), but they seem to be managing fairly well*, just like the ancient wild horses (Przewalkskis) that the Russians transplanted there during the final years of the USSR. Dan * Medical studies on those people might reveal something completely different, of course. |
