Modellers make the strangest things. All that work for a diorama that basically goes nowhere, at least to me.

Is it misspelled? (Pripyat). An abandoned amusement park in a ghost town? Somebody has an emotional connection. But the subject is obscure in the extreme.

It is pretty clearly a reference to the Chernobyl disaster.

If I remember correctly, there is a journalist's photo of the abandoned and decayed bumper cars which form the inspiration for this piece.

I think it's fantastic bit of modelling. Thanks Armand.

I still find it so hard to believe that there are some idiots who chose to stay or left for a short while only to return. About 300 of them (now mostly the elderly) continue to live and farm near Chernobyl and others go and work there:
