Do you still play these rules? |

Not since it was released, but I have been making plans to start back again, hopefully later this year. I was just recently looking to see what other official / semi-official factions might have come along in the years since. |

My group and I have been playing since it came out. Great game. That said, we've recently swapped over to frost grave as it gives a new twist on fantasy skirmish gaming, and IMHO the scenarios are more exciting. |

Just the setting using Frostgrave rules. |

No. The concept was interesting but the rules were very poor. |

Did for a while and enjoyed them, then the guy running the game moved on. Great fun and a good concept, would be worth GW re-issuing it I would have thought. |

Never liked the rules. The idea of hit, wound, then knock down doesn't do it for me. Played at Origins. Great terrain, unpainted, non GW miniaures. I had a Warband of 6 Dwarves who didn't have the movement to engage the enemy. When they moved to me, 3 times I hit, wounded…but only knocked the opponent down. They then stood up and killed me. At game end, I had gotten wiped out without actually hurting any of the enemy. Bad die rolling yes, but I still didn't care for the rules….. |

I enjoyed playing a Mordheim campaign with my kids when it came out & I used the rules for several Convention Border Reiver, Montague vs Capulet, & John Carter games since I think it works well for sword & pistol, minimal armor, warband + Heroes skirmishes (Magic & Monsters are optional). I also adapted it to a phased semi-simultaneous turn sequence to minimize the problem noted by PzGeneral. |

Enjoyed it for a time (I started playing when they released the rules in White Dwarf, before the actual boxed game). But the thing is, once a game is discontinued, new players don't join in, and as the old group moves away, it ends up joining the games on shelves I used to play. Was a pretty good game though. |

Played them once when they first came out but didn't hurry to get a second game. Too many better games available. |

I would if the rules were released in an easier repackage to acquire. Currently burning through the hours playing Mordheim, City of the Damned on my Computer. |

We did, but as the factions advance, ranged combat always wins out, we found. Frostgrave has the same flavour, and is FAR better balanced, we think. |

I did back in the 90's I had the box set and a few blisters. My group preferred Necromunda, Epic, 40K and Fantasy. At that time I was collecting for multiple different GW games with the intention of eventually getting everything for each game system but I was on a tight budget. Then GW killed Mordheim and nobody wanted to play a "dead system". I sold my Mordheim collection. Now I would like to get back into it now that I can afford to buy it but I refuse to pay EBAY prices. The reason my group did not care for it was a lack of terrain resulting in shooting combat dominating the game. Now with hindsight I would have filled the table with ruins. Each of us owned a Necromunda boxed set and we would each bring our terrain on game night. I was the only one with a Mordheim box set. |

Played it for a few years. Great game system. Dragon Gunner has it right. Too little terrain results in a shooting advantage. |

a lack of terrain resulting in shooting combat dominating the game Yup, and this is a key factor in most 40K games as well. You need a table top that has enough Terrain on it so that shooting is limited to around 12" – 15". Make it so that each side has to moved their troops and not just turtle in one corner and blast everything. |

Umm… You all had necromunda boxes? Why not use that terrain? As for a revamp. Six limbed night goblins (war hammer quest redo), anyone? Perhaps best left alone. |

Almost finished building a table: TMP link I will have my first couple of games on it on Saturday. As I have only played about twice since I bought the rules over a decade ago this is fairly exciting! |
