After having a pleasant experience buying from Desktop Dioramas the 1st time, I have to report that it was a ruse. They have failed to provide 1/300 planes I had purchased from them in April. Their responses to emails have been non-existent or at times very low on information. It is now over 3 months since I placed the order and have received nothing. I would advise that you stay away from this seller.

They can be found here: tictail.com/s/desktopdioramas

and they have an Ebay store as well.

He did the same ruse to me. He sold me a small amount of stuff at Little Wars about a year ago without problems. He went to Rock-Con this year and we made an agreement for me to buy 320 1/300 scale painted WWII airplanes. After paying him with a credit card he has had one excuse after another not to ship and now will not refund my money. The Paypal he uses is under someone's name Laurie Christoffersen with an email of therayboundshow@yahoo.com The personal email he uses is thomasnpa@msn.com His supposed name, address and phone number is: Thomas Christoffersen 5313 Brody Drive unit 103, Madison WI 53705 (608) 572-6588 and 1(608)572-6588 I originally paid him with Paypal, but he made an excuse that the fee was too high and refunded it and asked to be paid with a credit card. If he has used any other names or aliases please let me know. I am going to contact every game shop and convention I know about to warn them about this guy. In addition, I am considering legal action against him. I know for a fact he likes to go to Historicon. Another email he has used is desktopdioramas@yahoo.com

Also, his current web site is desktopdioramas.com

This is very bad. Very very bad. Because I recently supposedly bought 400 planes from him after seeing him at an auction in Chicago that he said he would ship me. It's been one excuse after another after another regarding why they haven't been shipped. I've seen him for years at shows so trusted him as I usually trust nearly all folks in our hobby and how I hope folks trust me as well. He's been giving me the run around and now I realize this is much worse than I had anticipated.

Holy cow, when you said "mugshot", I didn't think you meant an _actual mugshot_…!

It has been two weeks since this thief claimed to process a refund and nothing has been received as of today 2 weeks later. This POS has stolen nearly 1k from me.

I haven't received a refund from Thom Christofferson either. I suspect the email he sent that claims he refunded my credit card payment was forged.

Looks like Thom Christoffersen is on the prowl again… I had to threaten to file charges against him in Madison County in order to get my money back the last time and he has the nerve to try and do business with me again. Here's the email he sent me:

"Dave,

I am sure you are a little surprised to hear from me but I am going to be in your area this Friday and weekend and I have a TON of painted, bagged and tagged miniatures, almost all planes (yes, including many of the ones that I was supposed to send you before) and I want to liquidate them. Would you like to meet either at a restaurant or any place you choose so you can look and inspect all of them and decide if you would like to buy them right on the spot. Like I said, they are fully painted and decals, in merchandise bags with tags and ready to go. You can completely inspect them, count them and make an offer for as many or all as you want. I could meet you anytime on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Please let me know either way if you would like to do this or not.

Thanks

Thomas"

He's not asking for any money up front without the merchandise.

It's in a public place. You do have a carry/concealed permit, right? Take another with you who also has carry/concealed (or open carry would be just as good if not better!).

Take your cash and then pay him in cash for your planes. Get a complete and fully itemized receipt and you should be good to go!

I would never do business with him since he tried to rip me off in the past. In addition, I don't think it's safe for myself or anyone else to be within 500 yards of this guy. I am not confident that he has any merchandise at all and speculate that he is just trying to run another scam. He has a history of offering to meet people in person to give them something or sell them something and not showing up. The following link illustrates an example of him offering to give someone he owed concert tickets and not showing up: link

If I ever saw this guy anywhere within 500 yards of me, I would immediately call the police on him.

Suggest meeting at a police station. See what happens…
