I bought an item on the marketplace from a seller I will name if needed.
Purchased and paid with Paypal on 03/31/2017

Here is the email back and forth from now over a month.

He then emails me: On Sunday, April 2, 2017, he wrote:
>> I am ready to ship your other SS figures and bipod.

On Apr 10, 2017, at 10:39 PM, I wrote:
> Any info on the Germans shipping tracking?

On Thursday, April 13, 2017 7:40 PM, I then wrote:
> Hi
Still have not heard back from you in the figures. Please let me know the status

On Apr 13, 2017, at 10:42 PM, He wrote:
> I know they have been sent, I am in Chicago until late tomorrow night, I will email you the tracking number when I get back. Please let me know if they come tomorrow. Thanks!

Thanks

>Hi,
It has been another four days. I see you sold some other stuff on the board, you should have funds from that. When I sell stuff i never touch the funds until the item gets to the person intact in case I have to refund it. I need you to please take care of this.

File a Paypal claim.

File a dispute with paypal; that might move him along. IIRC, if there is a shortage on a paypal transaction -- like refunding your money -- the deficit will come out of the owner's bank account that is attached to the paypal account, so you don't need any money in your paypal account to send money. Send him an invoice for the amount due.

I would file a claim with Paypal ASAP. There's a time limit IIRC.

I've had two deals that went pretty much like that recently. Got my money back on both. One reason to NEVER pay as friends & family.

Shame the seller here. That seems to be the way members do things.

"Shame the seller here…"

Your brush is too broad: every situation has it own specifics and it's obviously up to the OP how he wants to handle this one.

'Shame' is subjective and may have absolutely no effect on a seller who lacks integrity.

nazrat01 May 2017 8:03 a.m. PST

But even if it doesn't "shame" him, it might keep somebody else from going through the same thing. Name the guy!

panzeriii01 May 2017 8:16 a.m. PST

I just looked up this person online and he has a history of fraud with thousands of dollars not paid to various people.
I don't need to name him, you can use the search for my user name in posts and see where I posted to buy from in the marketplace.

daler240D01 May 2017 8:17 a.m. PST

I would threaten him that you will name him here if he does not make it right immediately. One of the points of a community like this is we look out for each other in this regard and share info.

Panzeriii, "I don't need to name him"? Yes you do. You brought this person to our attention, you know who it is, and our search for your name might lead us to a false conclusion on who it really is. Ball is in your court now.

"…he has a history of fraud with thousands of dollars not paid to various people."

Well, that certainly changes it for me; I now agree with the others – you should name him.

panzeriii01 May 2017 12:23 p.m. PST

Well I guess the posting worked out, and my email with a link to file a report with his local Police Department. I got a pending refund today.

Texas Jack01 May 2017 3:12 p.m. PST

I followed panzeriii's suggestion of searching his activity in the marketplace and it is very clear who it is.

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP01 May 2017 3:51 p.m. PST

Agreed, I did the same.

Glad to hear you've got your refund coming from Desktop Dioramas.

nazrat01 May 2017 5:07 p.m. PST

You should have followed that with "Oopsie!" Would have been funny. 8)=

Why are some of you so reluctant to name someone who engages repeatedly in fraud and theft? Note the word repeatedly as anyone can end up in a single dispute with someone, especially a dissatisfied customer. But, when it happens again and again, then it needs to be brought out so the rest of us have some warning.

Remember what Edmund Burke said – The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

desktopdiorams.com has taken my money also and not delivered anything. He sold me a small amount of stuff at Little Wars about a year or two ago without problems. He went to Rock-Con this year and we made an agreement for me to buy 320 1/300 scale painted WWII airplanes. After paying him with a credit card he has had one excuse after another not to ship and now will not refund my money. The Paypal he uses is under someone's name Laurie Christoffersen with an email of therayboundshow@yahoo.com The personal email he uses is thomasnpa@msn.com His supposed name, address and phone number is: Thomas Christoffersen 5313 Brody Drive unit 103, Madison WI 53705 (608) 572-6588 and 1(608)572-6588 I originally paid him with Paypal, but he made an excuse that the fee was too high and refunded it and asked to be paid with a credit card. If he has used any other names or aliases please let me know. I am going to contact every game shop and convention I know about to warn them about this guy. In addition, I am considering legal action against him. I know for a fact he likes to go to Historicon. Another email he has used is desktopdioramas@yahoo.com

In addition to desktopdioramas.com he sells at tictail.com/s/desktopdioramas
