And to follow up the "favorite TV show" poll, I'd like to suggest THREE polls related to TV theme music: 1. Original Song 2. Original Instrumental (even if someone made up lyrics.) 3. Best Instrumental Music Stolen from Elsewhere. My nominees? Original Song: Maverick, Bronco and (sigh) Giligan's Island Original Instrumental: Wiseguy, Tales of the Gold Monkey, Combat!, Rat Patrol, Remington Steele (first season only) and the NBC Mystery Movie. Stolen Instrumental: Custer for Garryowen, The Magnificent Seven for guess what, the NBC White Paper for Applachian Spring, and Masterpiece Theater for Mouret "Rondeau." I suppose there should be a category for Best Stolen Song, but I can't think of one I'd nominate. |

I'm assuming you didn't see my comment in 1F,so I'll post the link again: TMP link No reason not to have another, though. But I demand that mine run first--I could use the free month! |

Hafen, you are entirely right. I don't know how I missed it, and clearly you should run first. But do let me point out that I specified songs with lyrics sung on the show specifically to keep out the ghastly invented Star Trek song. I don't see "Secret Agent Man" (the US version: Johnny Rivers) mentioned anywhere, and it should probably on the list for theme songs. |

It's in there-- top of page 2. And I tried to keep "non-apearing" lyrics out (believe me,how I tried! This is a major job of cat-herding. As I'm sure you'll see!). I did enjoy some of those crazy post facto songs, though*. *Sammy Davis,Jr singing "Hawaii Five-0" has to be a high (or should that be "low"?) point. And this performance I'd never heard of,of a song I'd never heard of,from a show I'd never heard of: youtu.be/GiPY4KdZ2eQ Anyway,we know what comes of demandimg things of Bill. |

We demand nothing of Bill. His site; his rules. But surely as a US-based site, we can peacefully petition for redress of grievances? He won't really send in the cossacks? |

I didn't catch this before it ran, but the best TV theme song ever is Invader Zim. It's a tango. |
