Can someone tell me how these are organised ? From this page – link

There are 4 rifle teams and 4 RPG teams in a platoon, but how many vehicles is that ? Is just 24 men in the platoon correct ? How do the 8 teams fit in what I assume is 3 x BMP-1 ? Where is the Platoon HQ ?

Then there is this page for 'Company' -

link

Still only 2 platoons (?) but with a 3 man Company command base, two 6 man LMG bases, 2 extra Rifle teams and 2 extra RPG teams, but still no mention of how many vehicles. 27 extra troops needs at least 4 more BMP-1, but 75 men seems very small for a company.

I would expect a third platoon and a total of 10 BMP's but this doesn't make sense.

No…it does not make sense

It is Team Yankee…..

Guthroth23 May 2017 1:46 p.m. PST

It's almost as if they deliberately screwed up the OOB and basing in order to make units incompatible with other rules systems ….

Armiesarmy23 May 2017 2:15 p.m. PST

I'll not comment ……

Achtung Minen23 May 2017 3:31 p.m. PST

And incompatible with reality as well. There were never four RPGs in a platoon, although there were six RPKs… so you have too many of the former and too few of the latter! The NVA Mot.-Schützen platoon was 29 men, of whom there were 23 dismounts (including the platoon leader and his second).

The lack of the M60 MG for US troops was the first nail in the coffin for me.

That, and their logarithmic range scale, and 6 x Hinds to support a single company of tanks, or IFVs.

Achtung Minen24 May 2017 2:46 a.m. PST

They do have M60's though! In the Vietnam range.

Guthroth24 May 2017 5:13 a.m. PST

Achtung that's very interesting. Sabre Sq would be my set of choice and that has 24 man platoons with 3xRPG and 3xLMG.

My main opponent is doing Brits but he's going down the TY route, and most anything I base for TY will be incompatible with SS 😤

I've started a new discussion about the actual OOB of the NVA Mot Schutzen on another thread here -
