Aside from my original request above … I guess there's always the option of making a few large simple stencil signs on concrete, though mostly simple and numerical:

Hmm. Don't forget the little map saying "you are here" or showing how to reach the emergency exit/escape pod.

But I suspect the most common sign in high-tech human space is always going to be the one telling me I'm on Level 3, Corridor 5 A Ring or Brown Sector--numbers, possibly with letters or color-coded. Some Inuits invented non-Arabic numerals which come in handy for that sort of thing.

You might want to look up SCP Foundation stuff – I know some fans have done field and hazard signs.

Might be a bit weirder than you want to go, though, unless your setting requires "Pray While Shooting" and "Do Not Follow The Little Girl" warnings.

Some people predict Emojis or some similar pictogram language.

Found another example of the cryptic ones used in Alien. Unlike the picture I shared in my original post, this one actually says what each symbol means:
