All, I have never properly played FoW; just pushed around some models in 2nd edition. I don't know point one about Team Yankee, so those references haven't been helpful to me. From what I've read, I like the idea of data cards. Are these something you download, photocopy, or are they included in the rulebook? Or with the models? If they are with the models, where do you get updates for models you already have? Thanks for thoughts.

I think this thread might help you some:

Long before TY came along I tried data cards in place of all the charts. In the end they were just as bad as you spend a lot of time trying to find the right stat on the right cards. Easy enough if you command 20 T34s, otherwise a bit of a pain.

I have since gone to a combined roster/QRS.

Each phase of the turn has its own section. But underneath is a mini roster listing your units and their movement stats and special rules.

The QRS is 4 pages instead of 2 in large part because I used a BIG font instead of the 6 point type FoW uses.

The combined format saves a TON of time for me, as I throw 6-10 player games, almost always with someone who has never played the rules before.

I tweak the basic rules quite a bit, but you can download a copy here (scroll down to the bottom of the page):

Don't know about FoW, but the cards come with the models for TY.

Ah. Thank you for the link and the info.

Call me cynical, but I'm sticking with 3rd ed.
Nothing about 4th that I have read impresses me.
Will there be a Secret Police like GW uses to break down my door and prevent me from using the old rules? grin

Battlefront is following the GW plan to the T. As soon as you run out of army books to publish, put out new rules that will require new books, with CARDS as a bonus!
But I'm not 14 years old and I am not falling for it.
