Bill, link Auckland's population is 1,495,000, the Capital (and home of well known gamer Sir Peter Jackson) Wellington's is 405,000 and Christchurch is 389,700. So I'd hazard a guess that Auckland would have the most activity. From 'across the ditch', FPR |

Auckland by size of population, there are six clubs that I know of and have visited, Auckland Wargaming (meeting today), North Shore, T.C.O.W.(also meeting today), South Auckland, A.M.E.R.I.C.A., City Guard, plus some others that like Bunker Monkeys, WAMO and a board gaming group. Their are a few others I think as well but I have not been to them. Auckland Wargaming club is the oldest dating from the 1970 Christchurch as similar with with a club dating from the 1970 which I was a member of in the early 1980 when I was stationed there. Hamiltion, Wellington, Palmerston North, Dunedin and Hastings/Napier all have clubs that were alive in the 1970's are are still going today although they may not be in the original form. Other can add to this list as its by no means complete. |
