What are you playing? What are the big cons down there? Is Flames of War mandatory there? grin

Another New Zealand post from Bill. Is he thinking of re-locating?

Well, put this together with the "separate board for Scotland" proposal. Perhaps looking for a small anglophone country where an ambitious man could become wargamer in chief?

Norman D Landings08 Jan 2017 9:15 a.m. PST

Maybe it's time North Island and South Island had separate boards?

Separatism?? We'll leave that to California thanks.

Plenty happening on these shores. The Nationals are in Christchurch over Easter this year.
the Hutt club (from the Hutt Valley in the Wellington region) is running its annual Valleycon over the last weekend of January.
Christchurch are also running another competition weekend in February I believe, Waitangi weekend.

Also plenty of discussion going on in hte local discussion groups, so plenty happening. We haven't completely closed down for Christmas/New Year. Although some of us are still waiting for summer to arrive!

Yes lots on, all periods played to some degree, and many tournaments/conventions etc.

Some of the major systems I've noticed include DBA, DBMM, ADLG. Flames, 40K, Hordes, Bolt Action, Black Powder. X-wing type collectable games also very popular.

I think we are pretty much up with all the major wargaming trends down here.

Well, remember to post on this board too, so everyone knows what's happening.

New Zealand is not too far from the Philippines… maybe I can send one of the editors to a wargaming show there someday! grin

Bill if you can send your staff 5000 miles to a show you could send yourself to a show in Europe :)
