Hit any HMGS flea market, and scoop up as much of GW's hot product from two years ago--maybe three--as you wish.

Watch for discontinued armies.

Too bad Wargames factory Shock Troopers are not easily available. Those were, IMHO, the best bang for the buck…

I'll repost my suggestion from the bugged thread;

The Mk III Tactical squad from Burning of Prospero is going for less than $20 USD USD each on some EBay shops. I bought 3 sets for $55 USD USD, including the shipping.

That's lots of conversion possibilities, for less than $2 USD USD per mini!

Khurasan Miniatures has some pretty good items in that range. These might be of interest…

$12.99 USD for nine models. They can be found here link

I've seen the Dark Vengeance 40k Dark Angels Tactical Squad go for pretty cheap on eBay. Might be worth checking out, too.

Hope it helps ;)

The EM4 figures are still available under another line, but I can't remember the link from the other (deleted?) thread.

I don't know of anyone else offering 28mm figures at that price – 0.50 GBP per figure!

I suppose we should establish some price levels. I would consider the EM4 figures a Bargain, and anything around 1-1.50 Very Reasonable, and figures around 2-2.50 Depends on Quality/Interest. Anything in the 3-5 range is Only If Its Your Poison. Above that is You Crazy. ;)

The guys in the picture are the Federal Army Riflemen btw.

Deserter, If you are interested in assembled an dpainted plastics, I've got Dreamforge Eisenkern and Valkir forces I'd sell for a pretty good price. If you are in the US, I'll even pay the shipping.

The basic Terminator game box set gets you 16 humans, 10 robots and 5 damaged robot crawlers……its currently around £19.00 GBP on amazon (UK), it was £14.00 GBP a month ago. You've missed the Black Friday deal which had the deluxe version at £20.00 GBP.

Check for deals on ebay, The battle for alabaster games are sometimes available cheaply (although they are usually in the £40.00 GBP range) so its worth the occasional look and the Maelstrom's edge game is also sometimes available cheaper than retail (I picked up a couple at half price).

Good Suggestions all around.
I highly recommend watching the TMP classifieds and any local auctions/swaps/conventions. I've found alot of used deals that have netted me figs for around a buck each. For more easily available minis….

If you don't mind a bit of fiddly assembly of restic minis I highly recommend the "Sedition Wars" boxed set. It gives you 50 sci-fi minis split between Human "Vangaurd" troopers and zombie/plague infected "Strain".You also get 50 scenic bases and a game. Until recently you could find it for $30 USD on Amazon, but it's still around in the $40 USD-50 range.

The sculpts are by McVey and are as good as anything from Reaper or Inifinty. I've painted up 3 sets of the troopers, each of which includes a couple of characters, and a gun drone.

Here's my initial batch of troopers painted and reviewed.

Here's all 3 batches including the gun drones and a set of characters.

I traded the Strain to some friends. Here's a squad of the strain minis

Some Strain done by another club member along with comparisons to Mantic "Plague" figures.

The one thing not shown in the posts is the nice scenic bases that I've saved for a future project. If you want cheap scenic bases for other sci-fi miniatures. I recommend Champ Industries plastic bases and Death Ray Designs Card Base toppers.

A couple of other suggestions
-Grenadier Future Warriors are available from Forlorn Hope games and moonraker miniatures they tend to be 2-3 bucks each.
-Some Judge Dredd troopers (not on the website yet email them for more info) and Starship Troopers figs are available for around 3-4 bucks each from Rebel Miniatures.
-The sculpts are a bit simple, but East Riding Miniatures makes quite a few really affordable (around 2 bucks each) and very characterfull figs in their "Corporate Wars" line. They are listed under ERM25, but they're actually more like 30mm to the eye.

Two lines that are a smidge under 28mm but are worth checking out include
-Denizen miniatures Ventaurns. These very slight and very well detailed aliens from their sci-fi line. Less than $2 USD each. They are about 27mm to the eye and very slim, but they are aliens. 25 year old sculpts that still hold up today against modern sculpts.

-Spacelords. Distributed by EM4 and Moonraker, these affordable figs have a real Rogue-Trader vibe. They tend to be around 27mm to the eye.

Might try prince August for the 80 figure bags of Empire and Bauhaus plastic figs ? 40 each in 10 man squads with nco and saw. If they still have them, that is ?
