Looking for VSF and Colonial gaming in Africa, the Pacific, Latin America jungle terrain. I made a bunch of trees for terrain in 25mm but it would be very tall for 15/18mm I suspect. Suggestions for sourcing 15/18mm jungle terrain, please?

I usually find those sources more suitable for 28mm+ gaming but next time I visit one of them I shall take a figure with me.

Ebay. Search for "model trees" or "model palm trees"

The aquarium plant aisle is your friend.

Also keep in mind a lot of what we think of as "jungle" is deciduous. Palm trees were presetn in Vietnam but were a distinct minority in many place….

You might also attend a convention where a scenario set in a jungle will be played
and ask the GM. Surely a big convention such as Historicon or Salute will have at least one jungle game.

If you want loads of cheap palm trees suitable for 15mm, try looking at cake decorating sites.

Here is the link to my now so ancient website with How-Tos on making 15mm terrain, and specifically Jungle terrain:

Also, check out back issues of Wargames Illustrated, there are some good articles on making jungle. Don't recall the issues, I'm afraid. And do take to heart the statement about jungle trees being deciduous. Generally, only the outer edge of jungle is dense, once in the interior the floor is in a 'shadow world' beneath the canopy far above.

I started to make the point about canopy 'far above.' Also, that 28mm 'trees' are barely tall shrubs to get them on the table.

Large trunks separated by decaying matter is mostly what a rain forest looks like.

I live in the Great American Desert (central US plains) and the small tree out front is more than three times as tall as me; the city pine on the side of the house is more like eight times, maybe more.

How many game tables have 8" or taller trees?

15mm actually lets you use the same foliage more realistically. ;->=

This is a great site to look at

From some of the stuff I saw in Central Africa, it's perfect.
Super easy, effective, great looking. ChEAP
