After scouring the interwebs, I'm turning to the good gamers and hobbyists at TMP to help me find 28mm proxies for this fella, the generic '80s GI Joe trooper. To me, the distinguishing characteristics are the sweet tactical sweater and the helmet. I'm not really concerned about the weapon, as M-16s are plentiful at this scale. Thanks for your help!

Very nice work, Doctor Merkury! Here's an old thread that had links to figures that can pass for GI Joe characters. TMP link |

Wow, nice work, Doc M! Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Stepman3, I have been leaning towards either Crooked Dice's Brits or Assault Publishing's ultra-modern Russians. |

Wouldn't you know it? I just found exactly what I had in mind (thanks to an unrelated TMP ad!) but they're out of stock! Check out these from Crossover Minis (with the ballistic helmets): link |

Thanks, Stepman3. Found those guys right off the bat! I'm sitting back right now, waiting for my orders to come in. What about rule sets? THW's Chain Reaction set seems like it will fit the bill for my vision, and the price is certainly right! Anyone use other rulesets? |
