Folks suggested different turret option so I decided to shoot some alternatives. I used a British Cruiser tank turret and a turret off a French Char C.

I still prefer the Panzer IV, but can see the British cruiser tank. The French turret is my least favorite. Also that is, I think, the largest pre 1940 tank turret ever used byt he French since the rest of theirs are 1 or 1 1/2 man turrets

I think the Cruiser turret looks very fitting.

I think the cruiser turret looks great. The PzIV turret is too distinctive to use on a sci-fi vehicle.

I think I would remove the rivets, as that technology seems too old fashion for space stuff.

Victorian Science Fiction vehicles use a lot of rivets traditionally.

Well the Char is more what I had in mind, and I prefer the look of the barrel, though the Cruiser does fit the shape of the hull…

Nope, can't make up my mind.

OK, yes, if for VSF, then the rivets are a great addition. I thought it was for future space.

I like the Panzer IV, but again it is personal taste. The A-10 Cruiser tank turret also looks nice but to me it looks too British, and these are supposed to be Germano-Dutch, so having a German turret seems OK to me. We are going to be putting German and Dutch marking on them, so the turret will work with the German vehicle numbers.

Quite understandable, though several of us saw the first post from VSF as it was cross-posted there. TMP link

And, of course, there's Terry's VSF game setting, Hive, Queen, and Country. ;->=

Nope, can't make up my mind.

Sorry, Terry, '…of the two alternates.' I'm of the Pz IV is 'just wrong' school.

I tried to cross post this and hit send too fast or something. When you do your conversions you can use any turret you want. Since I'm not selling these guys I just have to make myself happy! I am taking all this with a grain of salt and good humor.

I like the Panzer IV turret and I'm not sure how an opinion can be "just wrong". Heck I don't even bother to complain about other maker's stuff anymore (since usually I get taken to task for it).

Not that you're wrong, just some of us look at it and get the feeling 'just wrong.'

Again, OUR opinions.

I think the cruiser turret fits the clunky, square aesthetics of the lander better. It also looks a bit more generic than the pander turret. Whichever you decide to go with it is a cool project.

Thanks. It was a really easy project as well. If I hadn't been doing so many I could have cut individual decks instead of resin casting them. My wife bought me the resin casting kit so I figured I really needed to learn how to use it!
