Here are some images of my recently completed SYW Russian Army. I began this project a few years ago and decided this year to finish enough units for a decent sized wargames army. Here are some posts from my first efforts. TMP link TMP link I think the red, summer uniforms of the infantry are quite attractive. Now I just need to paint Prussians to fight them… More images here: link link Cheers, Mick

Those are gorgeous! I like the way that the Foundry Russians look with all of the different parts and pieces brought together in this manner. Fritz |

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated. The Foundry SYW Russians have a lot of character packs and command options to make your army quite interesting to look at. |

Bandolier, 14 battalions, 8 cavalry units, plus, plus, … You are painting like a machine gun! How many hours per week should had I ask? Anyway, stunning, would like to be so fast…. "Grand Bravo!" |

Great work. On the Cuirassiers did you paint the belts the same color as their coats? I am currently working on some myself and was not sure if the leather belts should be the same color as the coat or slightly lighter. |

I was just browsing the SYW forums and only now noticed this post had been revived. Thanks again for the comments. My philosophy for painting wargames soldiers is to make them bright and easy to spot on the table. Olaf 03 – The belts are pure white to contrast with the off-white coats. I had to experiment with some colours before I settled on that look. reeves lk – I'm getting close to putting on a decent game with them. I only have a few completed Prussian units to oppose them. These comments may inspire me to paint more Navy 417 – They are still my favourites too! Cheers Mick |

Mick, Thank you for the response. I was leaning that way too regarding the belt color. Again beautiful army. The Russians are definitely my favorite army for the SYW, very colorful! |
