Hi.looking for 15/18mm Italian wars figures from Venexia. Sadly no longer available from vexillia…any ideas where I could buy them? Apparently sold to US company but not on their website… HELP…cheers john

chrisminiaturefigs28 Jun 2016 5:43 a.m. PST

Been wanting the same thing john, Sgt major miniatures bought the molds and released some of the Renaissance Turks and that seems as far as they went with the Venexia molds.
They occasionally appear on Ebay but bidding can get a bit steep, the last time any showed up on ebay a pack of 12 mounted Gendrmes went for about £34.00 GBP which roughly turns into 40 Essex Gendarmes!
So i am afraid if you cannot find someone with a stash of them and will sell them to you for a reasonable price, or are not prepared to open your wallet for the ones that show upm on ebay, then like me just hope and pray Sgt major minis get those molds sorted out and into production!

chrisminiaturefigs28 Jun 2016 5:46 a.m. PST

Or perhaps all who want them back in production could pester them with email demands until they do!!!!!!!

cantbeatdavy28 Jun 2016 6:22 a.m. PST

I thought that might be the way of it….will try begging email later today… Cheers.john

cantbeatdavy28 Jun 2016 6:37 a.m. PST

Any other suggestions?familiar with Essex.haven't seen the cold glory figs.would museum miniatures mix??ideas welcome.ta.john

chrisminiaturefigs28 Jun 2016 6:47 a.m. PST

E mailed them today, but am not expecting a reply any time soon!
The museum minis are larger and chunkier than OG, but i have mixed both, not so noticable when painted and in mass formation!

Steve28 Jun 2016 6:58 a.m. PST

I talked to Sgt. Major at Fall In (or maybe it was Historicon), I'd like some more of the Louis XIV line. They bought the molds, but they were blown so they have to redo them. I believe he said he thought they would have them all done in the next year. But I'd definitely let them know you're interested.

Result….landslide….the vast majority of wargamers want you to release the Venexia range today…. 😁
Cheers guys
John

jefritrout28 Jun 2016 8:28 a.m. PST

If Andy is at Historicon, I will definitely talk with him about the Venexia range. I want the early Hebrews and Philistines as well as the Italian Wars.

cantbeatdavy28 Jun 2016 8:36 a.m. PST

Don't forget….it was a landslide!!!

chrisminiaturefigs28 Jun 2016 8:41 a.m. PST

Great info guys, and the more the demand for the Venexia minis re release the more chance for it to become reality.

Mako1128 Jun 2016 9:04 a.m. PST

I'd definitely like some more of the Italian Wars range(s).

Stosstruppen28 Jun 2016 10:03 a.m. PST

I have been wanting to see the King David range back out again

Henry Martini28 Jun 2016 6:17 p.m. PST

I bought the Old Glory 15s gendarmes and found them very disappointing: roughly sculpted, poorly detailed, two-dimensional, and the plumes break off if breathed on too heavily. They've been relegated to service as German knights.

Frostie29 Jun 2016 2:12 a.m. PST

I have a load of Venaxia Italian Wars and would love a bucket load more, especially the Swiss

artaxerxes29 Jun 2016 2:13 a.m. PST

I have some of the Venexias, and a pile of Museum. They mix pretty well together and the Museum figures are nice sculpts and paint up well.

cantbeatdavy29 Jun 2016 2:13 a.m. PST

I was gona use their landskneckes for the foot and vexillia gendarmes and mounted for the mounted.maybe mix in a few museum miniatures as well…..john

SAMURAIFREDDY29 Jun 2016 2:16 a.m. PST

Hi I bought a bunch of 15mm 16th/17th C Ottoman Turks many years ago from Venexia for a project that never went on for gaming DBMM in 15mm (I model/wargame in 28mm…) so if you're interested I can sell them at a very attractive price. They're gorgeous models and I regret not having been able to paint them …I am in Italy so shipping is from here but I can figure out a cheap option. If interested I can send you the full list of Infantry , cavalry and Artillery units/packs I have.
Thank You

chrisminiaturefigs29 Jun 2016 3:22 a.m. PST

Nice offer, but its the italian wars everyone wants!

cantbeatdavy29 Jun 2016 3:55 a.m. PST

Hi Samuraifreddy….I've already a Turkish army…sorry.maybe someone else will be interested. Cheers.john

SAMURAIFREDDY29 Jun 2016 8:35 a.m. PST

you are all welcome…
no problem at all, I don't need to sell them straight, just thought I could help.
I am sorry and cannot understand why these guys sold the company: they were doing well in both 15mm and 28mm scales , Italian and Impetus magazine have plenty of their painted figures pictures… I had spoken a few times with them and can say they were very enthusiastic about their ranges /expansion and remember their stand was sacked literally by UK/EU (need to emphasize that after Brexit..) customers at one Salute London a few years ago.
good luck with your search: I can ask some friend here in Italy if they have some Italian Wars figures they 'd like to depart with. Cheers.

chrisminiaturefigs29 Jun 2016 9:31 a.m. PST

Thankyou for the input SAMURAIFREDDY, much appreciated as i am sure others are! It is indeed a sad loss Venexia no longer exists, they were without doubt the best 15mm Renaissance figures ever. Its even more frustrating another manufacturer has the molds and the means to resurrect the line, i understand they were a bit worn but from what i have read they spent alot of time re doing the Turk molds which were supposed to have been in the worse condition , but havent bothered with the easier italian war molds!

cantbeatdavy29 Jun 2016 11:06 a.m. PST

Agree with white rose…..signed.a very sad 😢 wargamer

Midlander6529 Jun 2016 10:08 p.m. PST

I'd like to add my voice to the plea to bring these back into production. I have some of their Gendarmes and a few odds and ends which I bought second hand: I would very much like to add to them. I have also written to Sargent Major Miniatures direct.

chrisminiaturefigs30 Jun 2016 1:33 a.m. PST

Thats the way Midlander, and you would actually have thought Sgt major minis would want to get them up and in production again knowing how hot they would sell!

Wealdmaster03 Jul 2016 6:37 a.m. PST

Yes, they must come back, the petition grows. Perhaps some incentive in the form of donations or a kickstarter type affair could offer some boost to the efforts?

chrisminiaturefigs03 Jul 2016 8:49 a.m. PST

Yes Wealdmaster,a kickstarter, how would we go about it, perhaps we could put it to Sgt major, if its been a financial issue for them, it might help get things rolling again!

Condottiere05 Jul 2016 7:22 a.m. PST

Certainly would get behind a Kickstarter for Venexia miniatures, especially the 28mm Condotta range.

chrisminiaturefigs06 Jul 2016 7:25 a.m. PST

I e mailed them a week or so ago, but no reply! I tried!

Sandinista22 Jul 2016 3:44 a.m. PST

Just had an update from Andy with what seems to be great news

"I am slowly working on getting the line back into production. I have issues with the master figures they supplied when I bought the company, they melt in the mould maker, I think they must have some solder or something in the metal, its completely ridiculous! Anyway, the process to fix this is incredibly slow unfortunately. I have gotten the Ottomans back into production, and the Italian Wars should be back in the next couple of months. The Louis line is currently being re-done, and the rest of the lines will follow that. Its been 4 years since I bought this line, and I want it back in production as much as everyone else, probably more, I haven't been able to make any sort of return on my investment thus far… "

So looking it's good for Xmas pressies to self :)

Midlander6522 Jul 2016 4:02 a.m. PST

I just had the same email. Great news, really looking forward to this – I may have quite a lot of Gendarmes to replace for a start!

chrisminiaturefigs22 Jul 2016 4:43 a.m. PST

I too have received this very welcome email and replied willing him on!
Sounds like Andy has had a terrible time with the masters, i do hope he can succeed and have the range back on the market, he will surely reap the reward for his efforts!

Justin Credible06 Oct 2016 4:53 p.m. PST

@SAMURAIFREDDY

I'd be interested in the Ottomans. What do you have? Feel free to email on neilDOTburnettATyahooDOTcom.

Cheers mate!

Frostie26 Oct 2016 12:03 a.m. PST

Any update on these figures? I need a shed load of the Swiss :-)

chrisminiaturefigs05 Nov 2016 7:55 a.m. PST

Frostie, not heard anything since they released there very promising email back in July, i do hope Sgt Major can sort things out, my hole Renaissance collection plans are on hold until further news!

Condottiere15 May 2017 6:47 p.m. PST

Well, appears that the Venexia line will not be placed into production by Sergeant Major Miniatures--he appears to be liquidating his stock and casting equipment:

Just come back to this post, Condottiere, are you serious!!!

chrisminiaturefigs18 Aug 2017 1:36 a.m. PST

Condottiere, many thanks for the link, thats bad news indeed. Looks like i will have to wait and hope some manufacturer produces a new Italian wars range that is as good as the venexia ones were!

Condottiere18 Aug 2017 9:18 a.m. PST

Or a manufacturer picks up the Venexia line. We can hope.

chrisminiaturefigs18 Aug 2017 10:59 a.m. PST

Oh yes inded , that would be even better,

Condottiere01 Mar 2018 4:46 a.m. PST

Update on Venexia's potential fate. The assets of Sgt Major Miniatures business apparently is up for sale, which presumably would include the Venexia line:

If only I had some extra cash lying around!

chrisminiaturefigs03 Mar 2018 1:09 p.m. PST

Interesting, thanks for the info, it gives a small slither of hope for the venexia line. Sgt major couldnt get moulds from the masters so i fear it will be the same with the next owners, and i for one have come to except Venexia is as dead as a dodo!
fortunately ther is alot of light at the end of the tunnel, with bluemoons new range and khurasan soon to bring out an Italian wars Renaiassance range!

Just to let you know Lancashire games will be taking over some of the Venexia ranges -15mm Ottomans, Louis 14th and Italian wars and 28mm Italian Wars

marmont1814 Sponsoring Member of TMP11 Apr 2018 2:44 p.m. PST

Ive looked at what there is and think it can be done, just for your info Lancashire Games are currently working on its own Italian Wars renaissance, there are a couple of pics online

Condottiere11 Apr 2018 5:21 p.m. PST

Excellent news.

marmont1814 Sponsoring Member of TMP05 May 2018 9:29 a.m. PST

The Venexia are going to be released over the next few months after we have checked the moulds and replaced as necessary, so I'm hoping to get the Turks up ad available in the next 14 days, followed by the Italian wars, if anyone has any pictures of painted venexia they don't mind sharing for Lancashire games using and putting in the galley let me know, but watch for the adverts soon
