Which battle reports done in Comic Life are your favorite? link I recently tried to improve mine, which used to consist of one page of lots of words and another of lots of pictures. You can see both versions linked from here, in posts from April 1 and April 16: TMP link
I'm not claiming to be in the running for the best, but wondered which you've enjoyed. I've seen some good ones for fantasy, pulp, and World War II. andy |

Personally I don't care for any reports done as comics. I prefer to see the pictures. |

Do you like descriptions of those pictures? I found the comic style to better spread text through the pictures. If I see a report with only pictures, I just skim. If only text, I don't bother. The comic style gets my attention better. I don't mind you having a different preference, of course. Just curious whether you want any text at all. Do you care about the "story", or only how it looks? andy |

I agree with you, Andy. Unless I am feeling lazy or have a purpose which doesn't fit the format, I use Comic Life for reports on my blog (www.conflictcornucopia.blogspot.com). Some of my most popular posts are those reports and I have used them for covering how rules work as well. Why? Well, I find wargaming to be a very visual hobby for me. As much as I appreciate how some people enjoy writing text based stories as part of their bat reps, I just don't find it engaging. I want to see the figures on the table and have a general sense of the flow of battle and the overarching narrative. I also find it engaging on a different level as it makes me think about how to frame my photos, how to plan each page, what dialogue to put in speech bubbles and text boxes and so on… To me, comic reports mix the best of being able to read the story and see pictures of a game. I'm afraid I haven't really answered your specific question, though! |

You showed me another report, though. Just read the hamlet battle from your site. As we said, it kept me going to the end. Fun! thanks andy |

I did a comic life for most of my Weird World War 2 and sci-fi reports. The sci-fi reports were put in a single file link :) Cheers! |
