Italian Army ranges Release week @ EWM
This week sees me focus on releasing all the lovely Italian Army miniatures I have been working on for a few months now. My intention was to build up a complete range before release and this I have now done, although some additions are still being added. But it's a large enough range now to be released.

These are the first ones out. It's a new, remastered model of the Italian AS 42 Sahariana. These come with a new, one piece resin/plastic vehicle, wheels cast on. I'm using new plastic compounds and mould/casting technology which is producing some outstanding results. Those who have seen the quality and detail of these casting at shows will know. They have featured on various EWM "Coffee Table Tuesday chatter " posts as well. One piece casting means, just add the detail you want and the model is almost ready to go out of the pack.

The York show outing showing the range as completed so far.
However, these sahariana's have a lot of optional detail. The base model comes with a 4.7mm ATG with M27 HMG, a 20mmBreda AA/ATG and a 20mm Solothurn A/T rifle. Each comes with driver and 2 other crew. All with separate head options. The standard old style model Saharina we offered with just the M37 HMG is still available, but will be updated to this format in time.

As it comes out of the pack in the new, single casting. Just add detail as required.

Each model comes with an array of stowage and accessories to add as you desire. From pictures, there appear minimal uniform in the way these vehicles were loaded, so a chance to personalise the models?

Separate head options. This range, will feature extensively, the separate head option. Figures come cast with a post hole and separate head casting on a short post. Its an easy fit and I already have a large selection of head options cast, bagged and labelled up. The Italian colonial uniforms differ little apart from head gear.
So far I have made Steel helmets, with and with out feathers, sun Topees again with and with out feathers, some with goggles, black shirt hats with tassels, busting field caps, and Alpini hats too.
I have had 2 Libyan colonial infantry heads made plus Askari made that will soon also be in production.

Weapons are also available separately. Some of the figures in the new ranges have open hands. Great for weapon choices or equipment, demolition teams, wire cutting parties etc. Adds variety and options to the modeller or gamer. Even if you just want to stack some rifles next to an artillery position or build your own deployment marker for CoC?
Carbines with bayonets folded out, folded in, Rifles and SMG plus M30 LMG's.

So I shall be adding more Italians all week, as I get the labels and photo's done, plus adding a few more production moulds.

Shame that hardly any were used on the Russian Front and I already have enough for that. Wonderful work.

I got 3 moulds made this week. I'm currently putting together the Mule borne mortars, m35 mmg and General stores carriers. I also got some of the Lybian colonial heads done + some of the Askari Bande figures. They do like nice, if I say so myself.
I will upload some pictures once I get some of the castings undercoated ready for display.
I got one of the main infantry moulds made so all the advancing with rifles figures are now running well. I used some new mould layout and gating techniques on these and I'm am well pleased with the results.
Keep watching, more updates will follow. It's going to be the biggest, most comprehensive range of Italian army miniatures in 20mm Scale on the planet!!
