Does anyone know of a stockist for GQ other than Navwar?. I dont have access to a fax machine and am struggling to find the rules anywhere else. Hopefully they are the same price £4.50 GBP else where. Thank you |

ODGW.com right? GQ3 ? I believe they own this now iirc. …yes, just looked and it is there and for sale online. Some people hunt down GQ1 and GQ2 and that is not up there. Immediate download too… |

Cheers. I managed to get a fax/scanner app and ordered one from Navwar. |

Interesting; Navwar now lists both GQ-1 and GQ-2 again. I wonder if this is correct, as last time I called, he only had GQ-2 and was trying to decide whether to reprint GQ-1. For what it's worth, both are listed now: link link Zenturtle, I'd be interested in knowing which one you actually receive, as I would like to buy a couple of spare copies of both, if they are actually in stock now. Mark- Just rechecked the Navwar site (which Tony never keeps in shape) and GQ2 dropped off again (used the 'search' feature). They may be there or not; just never know with Tony's site. That said, if I was ordering, I'd drop him a line and ask (it can't hurt to ask. And I could use a new copy too). |

Ok. Paid for Navwar on 16th.. and it's still not arrived. Even at second class post that's still pretty poor. |

link Ok General Quarters Rules have arrived. Hinds tmp. I have enclosed a link to our facebook page with photos for you to see which edition. |
Charlie 12 | 26 Sep 2015 5:02 p.m. PST |
Yep, that's GQ1. GQ2 has a blue cover accents. GQ2 is mostly WWI, but does add some additional features for WWII. But honestly, you can get by with GQ1 just fine. |

Now i just need to configure it for 1/6000 scale. I think it will be a case of simply halfing all distances |
zenturtle | 04 Oct 2015 1:33 p.m. PST |
Does anyone have any experiance of using general quarters at 1/6000 ? I have asked the Yahoo GQ group but they done answer even after 3 requests over 2 weeks ? Hoping the people here are more sociable. |

General Quarters 1 and 2 work fine with 1/6000. You can either use the standard "inch" measurements, halve them, or even quarter them (which is what I do for WWII on a small table). Another thing you might want to do is double the movement allowances, as the designer halved them, as he mentions in the third paragraph on page 2. Mark H. |

Thank you guys. Looking forward to maybe playing this week. Need to try and re-write the quick play sheet and shrink the turn templates to 1/6000 scale. Unless anyone knows if there are any already made that arnt on the Yahoo Group page. |

One more thing you can do is use cms for inches. That's what my gaggle does when playing on a small board (4x6) with 1/6000s. Only thing we need to do is reduce the turn gauge to 40%. |
zenturtle | 11 Oct 2015 1:43 p.m. PST |
Thanks coastal2. I have shrunk the turn gauge to 40% but it looks a little too small. Is it reduce BY 40% or reduce TO 40% ? |
Charlie 12 | 11 Oct 2015 7:21 p.m. PST |
Yep, that would be TO 40%. 1"=2.54cms, so you need to reduce the gauge to 40% of its full size. (Technically, it should be 39.37%, but I think we can safely round that off to 40%!) |

Thanks Coastal2 and to everyone else for the help and advice. Feel free to see my work so far and give any views or opinions. link |

I've been looking for a replacement for my mislaid copy of GQ2 for ages – still no sign of it re-emerging? |
Charlie 12 | 18 Nov 2015 3:23 p.m. PST |
Nope. Not currently in Navwar's catalog. Per Navwar, they're OOP with no intention of reprinting. Best bet is the secondary market (ebay, etc). |
hindsTMP | 18 Nov 2015 7:44 p.m. PST |
Per Navwar, they're OOP with no intention of reprinting. As I posted in the other thread, he told me a few weeks ago that he was considering reprinting them, but was concerned that he couldn't hold the circa 5 pound price point. I told him that even at 10 pounds they would probably sell, given the price of the competition. GQ-1 and -2 are more useful to me than Naval Thunder, for example, or even GQ-3. Not that either of them is a bad rule set, but I have my preferences. To put my money where my mouth is, I recently ordered 4 copies of GQ1. Mark H. |
Charlie 12 | 19 Nov 2015 12:57 p.m. PST |
Tony (Navwar) has been threatening to reprint GQ2 for years. And nothing has come of it. The raw fact is that at a price point of $15 USD there's little market for a 40 year old rule set (short of revising it to reflect current research. And that's DEFINITELY not happening). The wise inside money is that GQ2 will never get reprinted and once the current stocks are gone, the same for GQ1. |

Resurrecting this just to point out that I recently ordered and received copies of GQ1 & GQ2 from Navwar. -Tim |
