Looking for some information! There was a user here by the same name that I'm trying to make contact with. If anyone knows how to contact him can you steer him to this post, or have him contact me directly at grognard1789 @ the g mail dot com. Thanks, Chris |

O.K.! I'm looking for the uniform colors for the Prussian Fusilier Battalions from around the 1790-1800 period timeframe. I've seen the Kling image (He only shows 20 I count 24 although the last 4 show up after 1795) and know about Thieme's work, but was wondering if it's written down anywhere? I saw an older post where you had listed info on the Musketeer IR's (I think you missed IR51 on your list), so I thought you may have done the same for the Fusilier Bn's. On another note I was looking for correct images/regulations for the "Manual of Arms" used during the same time period as well. I've been told, researched and seen numerous years mentioned, so still trying to nail it down. I also had some other more personal questions for you so thought it might be better to correspond via e-mail then here on an open forum. Respectfully, Chris |

Kling, an excellent source, 20 Füsilier Bataillone in 1792, gradually increased to 24 in about 1797 which stays like that in 1806 There you have the Kling plates, I cannot add anything new to you. I have to disappoint you about a list, I did not write anything like that for the Füsiliere. Markus Stein had added another usefull series about Prussian uniforms of about 1796 which even give a comparison to the 7yw. link In case for facing colours I would go for 1792 for Kling plate page 3 for 1806 Kling page 9 there was an intermediate uniform and facing colours in 1797 to about 1800, go for Kling plate page 6 about correct immages about drill regulations, for what nations are you researching?? A very very complex topic for a start try TMP link immgages even from drill regulation plates are not always in line with the written description.
I am quite busy at the moment – I don't understand your e-mail address the g mail dot com – as like thegmail.com?? in case you have more specific questions about the Füsiliere don't hesitate to ask. |

"You have been quiet…holiday?" Not really, from March to October is competition season so no painting but sports (almost) only ;-)

What a brilliant picture. Rogue River Oregon? (I fell in there and drowned,, technically, despite what I thought was a life jacket…it was actually a buoyancy aide, which meant I did finally surface unconscious). White water I have have never done since……respect! Is there any kind of boat involved in the above picture? Do you do this for pleasure? Are you totally insane????????? But I have to admit, you are still head up and looking confident….. All the best |

Thanks! I have all that so I'll re-look at them all (Kling). I still have that TMP link saved as well, although I initially looked at it for French sources years ago, I'll have to go back through it again for the Prussian ones. Yes, I'm looking for whatever drill regulation images the Prussian were still using in the 1790 – 1800 time frame. My e-mail is grognard1789@gmail.com. It's been a while since I've been on TMP so I didn't remember if TMP allowed it, or not? Also I don't need a lot of extra SPAM as I get enough already as it is. Is that in the N.C., TN border area? I used to go whitewater rafting there all the time years ago. You can reach me there when you have the time as I believe I have something that might interest you! Cheers, Chris |

OK – I get in touch with you and send you the loading sequence of the Old Prussian drill. No the photo is from the Günz – usually a very small and poor river but incessant rain made the competition quite challanging there the water raised dramatically. The good point – I usually can visit battle fields as well, in that case, Günzburg, Elchingen, Hasslach etc. |

Now this is weird. I know what this relates to…….but I did not send this to anyone, least of all post here. The idea that he has survived, even initially, is incredible though. If he did eject, no chute was seen. I posted a message about use of Grognard "only" getting to US battlefield sites….and how much better you folk are at respecting your military history than we are over the Pond |
