I am slowly getting into Sci fi gaming, specifically starship combat/ fleet action. I would normally research the history for a gaming period but…so I want to do it in fiction. Any great reading lists out there to help generate gaming ideas?

It has been asked before; I'll see if I can find some links, especially last time *I* asked for starship gaming in particular. ;->=

Anything in the honorverse works.

The Terran Trade Authority books had some neat stuff. David Drakes Leary books have some battles as well. Then there's the Starcruiser Shenandaoh books. And the classic Lensmen books.

Okay, never mind--all but the TTA book were covered by the first link…

Not a book series (that I'm aware of at least), but the Star Blazers/Yamato universe would give you a rich fleet action setting with an established backstory. Didn't see it referenced in the other threads linked above.

Thank you all. I have Ben already drawn in by the lost fleet!
