ROF(Peter Pig's ECW rules) will have section on mini sieges. To this end i thought i would post the questions I have on the tMP. It might be interesting for all to see and help me with the rules at the same time. TMP is good for gathering knowledge. So tanks in advance.

Question 1. Should I assume that infantry abandon their normal weapons and fight in sieges with pistol, musket and sword only. I think that likes would be a bit useless in assault and defence??

I tend to agree that pikes would not be much use in siege assaults.

Some garrisons of fortified places seem to have been composed entirely of musketeers, with no pikemen. There are also instances of bills being issued to defenders, for example at Basing House:

"Major Cuffand with 6 Files of Musqueteers and 20 Trooper with Browne-Bills, falling into the Parke attacque their outwards Lines … Lieutenant Snow with 20 Musqueteers and 12 Bills during the amazement falling upon their Quarter in the Lane"

Possibly bills were used for assaults as well? I don't know.

Grenades were used at the Royalist storm of Bristol – see link – and elsewhere.

And don't forget the fire pikes, something akin to a Roman candle on the end of a pole I guess.
