It could be another book from J.R.R. Tolkien, another "Little Fuzzy" book, another James Bond book (by Ian Fleming), or any author alive or dead. Any book you enjoyed and wanted another in the series. Any thoughts? |

A second vote for the Peshawar Lancers – Stirling did write a novelette – Shikari in Galveston – but another book would be great |

I'm not thinking of specific volumes to which I would want sequels, but rather of deceased authors from whom I wish there had been more to read. Piper (mentioned in the OP) is certainly one. Mary Renault would be another. Tolkien also (I mean finished works, not things cobbled together from notes left behind). Even some pretty prolific authors – Asimov, Heinlein, Doyle, Burroughs – I wish there was MORE. Doug |

More REH Conan stories! To answer the question, I would choose a sequel for "Beyond the Black River," so we can see Conan takes his revenge on the Picts. |

You beat me to it, Zippy. At this point I would settle for a sequel (Book 6 and 7) to Game of Thrones/ Or, Flashman's Civil war arc. Civil war, deputy to Hickock, Maximilian in Mexico. That would have been at least 3 more books, and I hope to God that the Estate does not commission some hack to do them. I would rather do without than have an inferior mess. Someone tried to pass off a fanfic ACW one a year or two ago, and I was nearly kicked off one of the Flashman Yahoo groups for nay saying. |

Never understood the love of Flashman, but hey ho. Sequels hmmm, More Harold Shea from Fletcher Pratt and L.Sprague De Camp, and I know Stasheff did some but they are nowhere near the same level. |

Children of Hurin was excellent. Christopher Tolkien should try and assemble the two other long stories (Luthien and Beren and The Fall of Gondolin, as I recall) while he still can. I have far less interest in the collected thoughts of his dad and how he got from a to b when writing LotR and working on all of the back story for the Silmarillion. Having re-read Children of Hurin, Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales again recently (having bought them all again for my Kindle) I would really like to read some more in depth proper 'stories'. Though if it encourages Peter Jackson to make a dreadful film of them, I'll pass! John T |

I would like to see the 3rd book of Paul Edwin Zimmer's Dark Border trilogy. Rumour has it that he wrote it, but it remains unpublished :-(. |

I'd like at least one more Hornblower or one more Aubrey/Maturin. One more book from the late Harry Pfanz on Gettysburg would also be nice as would a Joseph Harsh book on the same subject. |

Definitely second that Dark Border completion, Huscarle. If he didn't plan a trilogy, Zimmer certainly left enough loose ends to justify one. |
Sue Kes | 06 Mar 2015 6:04 p.m. PST |
Oh, yes, more Aubrey and Maturin. I was so sorry he died before that last book was complete. But the loss of Robert Holdstock, well before he brought his series to a close, was tragic. |

I too would love some more Aubrey/Maturin. OŽBrian was really a step above most writers of historical fiction. Great stuff! |

The Eight Skilled Gentlemen by Barry Hughart. Asset in Black by Casey Prescott. I'd love more "Judge Dee" stories by Robert van Gulick. Anything else about classical and ancient Greece by Phillip Parotti (who write "The Greek Generals Talk" and "The Trojan Generals Talk"). |
