OK, so I have made some progress on my action figure scale Fithp conversion. For those of you not following my previous posts about this, the Fithp are the aliens from the Niven-Pournelle novel "Footfall" and are described as seeming like baby elephants with twin trunks that further split further down for finer manipulation.

Since that time, I have managed to get the ears done (third time's the charm!) and have gotten the trunk armatures in place and articulated. They twist at the point the connect to the head. One is partially bent into place to hold the energy rifle, also half finished. Once the putty gets drier, both trunks will be fully bent into their final shapes. I then need to finish the rifle, and build a full equipment harness for this bad boy. Or girl. I haven't really decided on a gender yet, but the rest of the team calls him Fluke because Fithp is hard to pronounce. I digress. The harness will include a holster for the rifle, a power pack for it wich will be attached by wires, and a general equipment pack. And possibly some other stuff. I may also add some sights to the rifle, or possibly the left eye. There are so many ideas rattling around, and I am also thinking of paintjobs already… Anyways, on to the pictures:

You forgot the platform shoes. And the hang glider. grin

It is far from done, no worries. But this isn't a 100% Footfall-accurate toy. It's going to have a rocket pack!

Following the description very well, and looking great so far :)
