A race between advance elements of the French and German armies to secure the crossings over the river.

15mm figures being a combination of Irregulars, Peter Pig and some FPW Spahis. The game was played between my two boys aged 8 with me umpiring using the rules Too Fat Lardies If The Lord Spares Us.
The German cavalry got the road bridge first, and pushed the French Spahi cavalry back, who then dismounted and occupied the building adjacent to the bridge for defence after seeing French infantry moving up.

French infantry make an assault on the German cavalry, being repulsed on the first occasion.

Other German cavalry cross the railway bridge and move forward, only to be ambushed by a company of French infantry with an attached mg located in the cornfield.

Meanwhile German infantry cross the railway bridge and deploy to attack the French infantry who massacred their colleagues in the cavalry.
By the then the boys attention span was lost. :(

Ah, there was supposed to be photos within the above post, but apparently not. Anyone know how to insert any within a post please?
