I have 2 of the old Games Workshop gaming maps that are more like static grass than flock. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that can make larger ones similar to those? I need about 10' by 6'. I can only get 8' x 6' or 12' x 4' out of my two mats.

Thanks – Allen

Hey Allen,

I would have said The Terrain Guy might be able to make them but he went out of business in 2013…sadly. Great mats at a reasonable price. Hotz seems to be the only company out there that does custom jobs.

Cigar Box uses vinyl.

Monday Knight Productions uses felt mats but they have significantly reduced the options for mats you can purchase. I think 6X4 is about the largest.

Other than that, it's GW or bust I think. I have the very same GW mat you have. It really is quite nice.

For those custom sizes, you may have to get canvas from a Michaels/Hobby Lobby and paint and flock it yourself.

Everyone misses those GW mats and they go for daft money on ebay now. I don't understand why someone like Battlefront or Warlord hasn't picked up on it and re-introduced them.

Check Terrain Map(terrainmap.com). They are on the wrong side of the Atlantic. According to their website they do make some larger mats.

I had a similar question.

in the end i've decided that I will make my own. I haven;t done it yet though because I don;t have the work space or a weekend free yet, but should in January.

BF can't keep up with the stuff they already make :)

Cigar Box is a high quality felt (really lays flat over hills), not vinyl. Not 'grassy like GW though and nothing bigger than 4x6.

Really? I have four. What are they worth?

Monday knights still make flocked 4x6 matts

I have five of the GW mats. Can I sell them for enough money to fund my retirement?

@ Andy.

Could we get together & corner the market?

£40.00 GBP to £50.00 GBP seems to be the norm on ebay.

That didn't work out so well for the Hunt brothers with silver.
