I have a issue with an order placed in August from Warweb.I've called 2 numbers left voicemail and sent at least 4 emails on an order I placed but get no response. Does anyone know if they are still in business they took my payment but haven't contacted me on any of my queries.

The Gray Ghost04 Dec 2014 5:03 p.m. PST

sounds like business as usual from them

cosmicbank04 Dec 2014 5:04 p.m. PST

I ordered a couple months ago and got my order. I have another order I am waiting on about 3 weeks old. They have the worst customer service in the world. They used to be pretty good a few years ago. I don't think they really care very much.

Painter Jim04 Dec 2014 5:13 p.m. PST

It has been very discouraging to see the company worsten over the years, but a couple months is way to long. Not worth the savings, order direct.

randy5104 Dec 2014 5:29 p.m. PST

Thanks for those reminders, guys. I was just thinking about placing an order with them (that discount of course) and your comments jogged my memory of my last experience of very slow service and crabby responses to my queries of when I could expect my miniatures.

cosmicbank04 Dec 2014 5:49 p.m. PST

Randy you got a reponse.??? Wow your special

warwagon604 Dec 2014 6:16 p.m. PST

You are right, thanks for the reminder I to was getting ready to place a order. my last order took 3-4-weeks.I think I will pass and look else where.

epturner04 Dec 2014 8:10 p.m. PST

I don't bother with them anymore. Been more than a couple of years since I dealt with crap service from them.

My two shillings. YMMW.

Eric

cplcampisi04 Dec 2014 8:16 p.m. PST

I'm still waiting on an order placed in early August. I've sent several emails and tried calling a couple of times, no response. Other people have said it has taken up to four months. It looks like if they don't have something in stock, they just wait until it eventually shows up . . .

In my case, they haven't charged my card, but that's perhaps more annoying, because I don't know when a charge is going to go through (I used a debit card).

They used to be really good with communication, and would tell me if something was holding up the order.

Winston0104 Dec 2014 9:02 p.m. PST

Been a while since I have bought anything from them but always had good service. That is interesting to hear all the bad service people have had of late. Sad to hear this kind of thing.

KTravlos04 Dec 2014 11:20 p.m. PST

Yup, they always were very slow (compared to let us say WarStore) though you would get your stuff in the end and in good shape.

cosmicbank05 Dec 2014 6:17 a.m. PST

They used to have a young lady who worked there who was very good about letting you know about your order, email, returned calls fast etc…
She left I think she said something about new owners ( this was a few years ago) maybe they are following the new US business model. Buy a succussful well run business and &%$#)=> it up. I think when/if my order shows up it will be my last from them. Unless something changes.

TiberiusAugustus05 Dec 2014 7:38 a.m. PST

That's the usual from WarWeb. I've ordered from them a few times and never expected anything in less than a month. Usually my order arrived in the 3-4 week range. If I need something relatively quickly I stayed FAR away from Warweb.

DrakeSteele05 Dec 2014 2:58 p.m. PST

Oh how we have fallen I remember when I was a poor kid I would send coins taped into an envelope to Jack Scruby and he treated me just like a valued customer I'm sure he got a kick filling my order poor penmanship and coins included but he ran a stand up business and never failed me I miss ole Jack and his friendly business now I guess I could cast my own BTR 152's and market them to warweb in revenge

cosmicbank05 Dec 2014 5:48 p.m. PST

Lol

It's a shame because I refuse to order anything from them anymore, which makes 15mm a bit harder to buy but that's life. Maybe if people stop ordering, they will be forced to go bankrupt and sell the company to someone who knows what he is doing.

Fred Mills06 Dec 2014 6:08 a.m. PST

I too had ordered from them, with very poor results two out of three times. So, in response to this thread, I just deleted them from my bookmarks and won't buy from them again. Commerce is a willing seller and a willing buyer. I ordered twice from European companies recently and received both packages quickly, with tracking numbers, after excellent point of sale service and mailing notices. There are better firms out there.

sebastien06 Dec 2014 7:56 p.m. PST

Same problem. Ordered a month ago and paid through paypal.
Have emailed three times, no response, noone answers the phone.
Totally unacceptable
I have ordered from them in the past without too much difficulty but will never deal with them again

sebastien06 Dec 2014 8:10 p.m. PST

Have just initiated a dispute through paypal.. seems to be the only way to get their attention…I would actually like the figures though!

Old Contemptibles07 Dec 2014 1:30 p.m. PST

Good grief, I just placed an order with them last week. My last order was slower than usual which they said was the manufactures (OG) fault. I used them for ordering 15MM OG, mostly FPW. Now I will have to find someone else. It is a pity, they used to have such good service.

Old Jarhead07 Dec 2014 8:07 p.m. PST

It is not just Warweb. Ordered figures from Falcon Miniatures 2 months ago, still waiting. I find it easier to order from Europe get great service.

Painter Jim07 Dec 2014 9:58 p.m. PST

The decline of our nation is appalling.

Old Contemptibles07 Dec 2014 11:28 p.m. PST

I guess it is all a plot.

sebastien08 Dec 2014 10:16 a.m. PST

so I noticed in an earlier thread on this topic that there might be a connection between Warweb and Old Glory 15's..there isn't apparently but they are in the same building! so I phoned old glory who helpfully took the phone upstairs(!) to a guy named Dave at warweb! who found my order and explained it was still out for casting and would be a few more weeks. Fair enough, because they do say this on their website.
I pointed out the lousy communication AND that warweb was getting a very bad name on TMP.

Inkpaduta08 Dec 2014 12:34 p.m. PST

Sebastien,

What was their response when you told them that?

marco56 Supporting Member of TMP08 Dec 2014 6:41 p.m. PST

Yeah I guess they don't have any stock.Just get sets made as needed. That's what I was told in a email a while back.
Mark

sebastien09 Dec 2014 7:09 a.m. PST

Well Inkpaduta, he didnt seem very concerned! Not sure whether i was talking to an overworked employee or the owner…..

PVT64109 Dec 2014 8:37 a.m. PST

Looks like these issues go back to 2011 When I search "Warweb". I am still waiting on a balance of an order from MAy TMP link . I'm considering the non shipped items a loss and moving on. Will never use again and warn all fellow wargamers to avoid this once good company.

Old Contemptibles10 Dec 2014 3:59 p.m. PST

I ended ordering some 15mm FPW from OldGlory15s.com – 19th Century Miniatures. But their website looks suspiciously like WarWeb's website. Are they in the same building?

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP10 Dec 2014 6:58 p.m. PST

RN: do not know if they are but have never had a problem ordering from 19th Cent. I gave up on WarWeb several years ago.

49mountain11 Dec 2014 9:32 a.m. PST

Thanks for information from folks about WarWeb. I was thinking about ordering from them. Not now.

cplcampisi15 Dec 2014 9:15 p.m. PST

Called oldglory15s this morning, and was transferred to warweb. Apparently my order was never processed (some sort of computer fluke), so they made a note of it, and hopefully I will see my minis sometime next month.

I asked which phone number I should use, and was told the one on the invoice was correct, it was just engaged when I tried calling earlier. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Old Contemptibles16 Dec 2014 2:48 p.m. PST

I am waiting on an order I placed a month ago today. I have since placed and received two orders from the UK.

Rallynow,

RE: month long order…

I say, "Luxury!"

Back in June of 2014, I had placed an order for OG Command Decision minis. It was in September or October that I actually spoke to a person named Eric. He told me that OG was behind on their castings due to a health issue of one of the casters and the recent giant con OG attended. He told me it could be anytime now. I am still waiting but the good news is that they have not charged my credit card. Now I want to see if it will be a year before they get to my order (June 2015).

Guess what? I won't be ordering from these guys again. They can keep their 40% discount. When you have this kind of service, it is just not worth it. It was supposed to be a Father's Day present for me from my family.
I know there are those TMP folk who are happy with them. They were awesome at one time in the past. These new owners however, leave much to be desired. Steer clear away from these guys and go for somebody else more reputable.

Old Glory Sponsoring Member of TMP21 Dec 2014 7:43 p.m. PST

Old Glory Command Decision figures and the casting of said figures have nothing to do with War Web and are located in two different states. No casters at OG has had any health issues.

Henry Martini21 Dec 2014 8:08 p.m. PST

Giant con indeed!

Capt John Miller21 Dec 2014 9:20 p.m. PST

Russ,

Thanks you for letting us know what is happening.

Old Contemptibles23 Dec 2014 8:33 p.m. PST

That's what I tell my boss. "I am going to take of a few weeks to recover from the con. I went to."

Old Contemptibles24 Dec 2014 6:00 p.m. PST

My Warweb order arrived today.

I stay away from War Web and prefer to deal directly with 19th Century Miniatures (www.oldglory15s.com). Over the past 3 years, I've placed both small and large orders for their 15mm Franco-Prussian-Austrian (1859-71) figures, and always had good service. Typically, I get my order within a 2-week time frame. When I've had a problem, there is always a helpful guy answering the phone and quickly addressing my concerns.

That is my experience also.

marco56 Supporting Member of TMP27 Dec 2014 9:58 a.m. PST

99% of everyone I've ever dealt with have given me excellent service so don't let Warweb get you down about ordering online.

Lucius29 Dec 2014 9:00 p.m. PST

Ordered some BH ACW on Dec. 17, got them today.

I can't complain, though I had a heart attack when I stumbled on this thread last week. It was the first time I'd ordered from them in 6 or 7 years, and did not know that others had had problems.

Nikator02 Jan 2015 11:17 a.m. PST

I am really surprised. Shocked, in fact. I have ordered stuff from Warweb for years, including as recently as November 2014 and have had uniformly excellent experiences with them. I really would not order OG 15s from anyone else.

Frexample, last November I ordered a compete Ancient Spansh army and got the whole schmere in 10 dyas, complete without anything missing. I am surprised and dismayed others havehad a bad experience.

Personal logo Mister Tibbles Supporting Member of TMP02 Jan 2015 5:27 p.m. PST

How was the quality of the BH figures? I'd like to get some but worry their moulds are aging. I haven't bought any in a decade and thought I'd heard the moulds were aging.

Lucius02 Jan 2015 9:37 p.m. PST

I have a pack of BACW1 Union advancing that I compared to an identical pack purchased from them18 months ago.

No appreciable difference.

The pack of mounted officers I got looked a little rougher(maybe a B+ instead of an A) but I don't have anything to compare it to.

I'll probably order more of each.

designernorth04 Jan 2015 11:20 a.m. PST

Nikator, I'm surprised you had a good experience with Warweb. I placed an order in September 2014, and they immediately charged my credit card. After that – nothing. They didn't reply to emails, didn't answer the phone, and I haven't received a thing. I'm disputing the charge with my cc company and I'm hoping that works out in my favor.

komradebob08 Jan 2015 9:02 a.m. PST

I ordered minis from them back at the end of July 2014.

I ended up having to connect with them through the oldglory15s number, and managed to get the Battle Honors minis I ordered, but not the West Wind minis.

Tried calling them today. No answer at either the Warweb contact phone # or the oldglory15s phone number.

Deeply disappointing.

I'm going to keep trying to get my money back, but I will certainly let anyone who asks know that ordering from Warweb is a bit like throwing money down on the casino table. Don't expect to win, kiss the money goodbye, and if you do end up with what you were hoping for, walk away and count yourself among the lucky.

komradebob08 Jan 2015 9:33 a.m. PST

I'm also beginning to gather documentation and preparing to sent registered letters if my latest email fails to gain a response. After that? Who knows?

I'll start exploring legal options. I'm pretty sure taking money from people and not providing promised product( or refunding the money) is still a non-no, especially when done across state lines by mail or wire.

I suggest that those of you who have also been stiffed start taking similar measures.
