OMG what have I gotten myself into. Sure, just a little DBA army. Only 72 models, right? Except each and every one of them has an individual outfit, with an entire rainbow's worth of colors on each, including lots of little detailed patterns.

But it's fun. After the monotony of the six colors on my amazons, drab airplanes, strict 18th century uniforms, and earthtone Old Westerners, it is a welcome change. I am still painting an element's worth at a time, but after the initial shock and fear, it turned into a welcome change of pace. It's going to take practically forever, but that's ok too. I am enjoying it so far. We will see how I am doing in another 40 figures…

Persians, Samurai, Aztecs: I'll admit to avoiding such armies because of the difficulty in painting them.

Good luck PR: I'll look forward to admiring your work once you post photos.

Done 'em all, some repeatedly, all with enjoyment. Won't somebody please produce Mexicans in 10mm?

Funny today I just posted this thread:

Persians are always a work in progress.. finish ten – you need forty more.. finish a hundred you need two hundred.

Keep working at it and you will someday have a force to reckon with!

I've looked at Persians a couple of times but the paint job as always put me off! I will keep an eye on your progress, I must admit that temptation may get the better of me!

Go with 6 or 10mm and it should not be too difficult but with 28mm I agree, the work is immense.

I just picked up a pack of Wargames Factory Persian Infantry myself…it's not the next project on my workbench (maybe third or fourth in line) but I'm already thinking about colors and patterns…and cringing a little.

I second that.
Have been collecting 28mm Persians and Allies for over 12 years and still got lots to paint. They are enjoyable to paint but it's hard (for me) to do more than 2 units in succession.
