I like that "play room".

ravachol04 Oct 2014 6:54 a.m. PST

yes great play room with miniatures atr scale with the fortifications . but I have no clues on the scale of the few sentries scattered upon walls nor the cannons on the orange walls. If in 28mm it makes me wonder if one could play a full siege at 1/1 scale both for men ratio and landscapescale to figures. The sack of Marienburg for instance would surrely call for some hundreds feet square place at the very least.

@scott: Paper terrain offer is indeed a well thought product I've been lurrin' at for some time by now ;)

On tango post, I wonder what happened , whenever I'm not logged I may see his post about neuf-brissac but as soon as I log-in it goes lost in the wilds.

This is an interesting website

fortified-places.com

If you can mix groundscales and figure scales then consider Rod Langton's fortress models in the 1/1200 buildings.

Works with 6mm figures for.

great links indeed , just a little difficult to model land wafare in scale at 1/1200.

the first link reminds me of a 3D printer project some years ago where a team was building up a full town map using a color 3D printer to get all elevation levels including river aswell as each building and trees that real town had. Would love to do likewise with equivalent 3D buildings from fortified-places site.

great links indeed , just a little difficult to model land wafare in scale at 1/1200.
But it works pretty well at 1/600 aka 3mm!

I am using 6mm figs with 1/1200 buildings at 1/10000 groundscale for operational level games.

The 2mm Irregular blocks work well too.

I was at Neuf Brisach a year ago this week. Wish I was there now, rather than at work, but Naarden in the Netherlands is still my favourite fortified town.
