grommet37's post TMP link reminded me of a book from my childhood. It was a picture book about the Battle of the Bulge, illustrated with photos of dioramas of the battle, made with 1:35 scale models. I recognized the Monogram M3 halftrack in particular, and can vividly remember the page showing the Malmedy Massacre.

Does anyone else remember this book, and hopefully the name and/or author and/or publisher? Searching variations on "Battle of the Bulge" & "Children's" & "Book" hasn't been fruitful.

Yes, I remember the book. I thought it was done with 1/48 models, though that was a lo-ong time ago. I remember checking this book out of the elementary school library many times. I wish I could remember the name too!

Damon.

I still have my copy. I just grabbed it off the shelf.
The title is "Great Battles of History – The Bulge" The author is Thomas Parrish, photographer Arie de Zanger, and military consultant Lt. Col. Vorin Whan. It was published by The World Publishing Company with a copyright date of 1966.
There were two other books in the series, The Battle of Gettysburg and The Battle of Trenton.

Wow, what a great flashback! My elementary school library had the Bulge one and the Gettysburg one, and I must of checked both out at least once a month if not a week. They were my favorite books! My mom actually called the librarian to see if she could order copies for me, but they were out of print. :(
I wonder what the chances of finding copies today are…

I just checked Amazon.com and there is one used copy available for $52.50 USD.

Wow, that was fast! Thanks!

I don't remember the other two titles. My library may have had them, and I just wasn't interested in those periods. I did check out the Bulge one many times, though.

Yup, I have all three books. Got them when I was about 12.
